Kat called Isaac's neurologist and told them about Christy. She gave Kat the name of another neurologist. Christy called them, and has an appointment for next Tuesday. Kurt goes to work on Friday, and Christy still needs someone with her, so I think Kat and Christy are working out plans for the weekend. Kurt's mom is with Christy and Kurt now, but she will be going home for Easter weekend.
Oh, the doctor drew blood today and Christy will know by tomorrow if the strep caused the problems in her brain.
Everything around here had been going along smooth and easy. Sherrill was behaving and life was grand. Then reality sets in. I guess we all have our ups and downs. I just wish Christy's would hurry up and work itself out!
Christy, just want to let you know we are here for you!
School Years 2009 until.......whenever. Lots of kids, AND grandkids AND lots of surprises!

Neurologist report
The facts from what I understand.......the neurologist said a stroke does NOT show up on the MRI, nor does MS. Most people know that strokes don't always show up. He hasn't a clue what's going on. He did suggest it could be coming from the strep virus going to her brain (she recently had strep throat), or he said it could be secondary Parkinson. I think either are a little off the wall, and I suggested she go see another neurologist. I asked her how long she could be this way, and he didn't know, that he could last forever. He is starting her on some medication that "could make the tremors worse".
That's all for now. I sure hope she finds another doctor.
That's all for now. I sure hope she finds another doctor.
Another update
Christy had her MRI. Now she goes to St George at 2:00 her time to see the neurologist. We won't know anything until after that. I should have something posted by 5:00 pm our time.
Oh this has been a stressful 24 hours. I'm sure it is even tougher for her though!

Christy update
Christy saw her dr this morning. No real news. They are trying to get her scheduled for a MRI as soon as possible, and to get her in to see a neurologist. No other news for now.

Christy in hospital
Hey kids,
Christy is in Cedar City at the hospital. Around lunchtime today she got so she couldn't talk. Kurt carried her to the emergency room. They have done an EKG, and are awaiting results of a CAT scan. We don't know what's wrong yet. Could be a chemical imbalance, a reaction to the prednisone she's been taking, or a stroke. Will let you now when we hear more.
Please keep her in your prayers.

Help,
My computer is dying. I know that it is 6 years old or so, but I love my computer. Any computer geeks out there? I have moved all my pictures, ebooks, most of my music, anything that takes up alot of bytes. It doesn't even load up correctly sometimes. I have defraged and done everything I can think to do. My last option is to totally remove every program, some of which I don't have back up discs for. If I remove EVERYTHING and totally reboot, reinstalling the original start up disc, will that free up all the space on my hard drive? Does anyone out there know? Does anyone have a good friend that is a geek?
My laptop is doing great, I just don't like the touch pad, and the printer is hooked up to the main computer. I would call Sony, but they are so greedy they now charge you for customer service, but that might be my last option. Oh, one other question, can I move entire programs to my flash drive like I do documents?
Any suggestions? Please. Please.

Krazy Quilt
So, this is what I have been working on. I still have to put two boarders on, the backing, hand quilting, then the binding. I think it will be rather cute! I have to go back to Smithfield for some more brown fabric. This one went together really easy. I was surprised. When I finish, it will be somewhere between crib size and "throw" size. Who will be having the next baby boy?
I started today another of these "Krazy quilts". This one will be my African Safari. Just wait until you see it! I'm so excited. It's fun being old!

Happy Birthday Isaac

Happy Happy Birthday to our little Isaac. I had been working on his post for a couple of days, but never had the time to finish it. I got up this morning, and had completely forgotten about his birthday. Thanks Abby for posting and reminding me. I REALLY feel like a dummy now!
I was trying to move pictures from his blog, one or two each month and make him a montage.
But, I ran out of space again on my hard drive, and my flash drives are full, and I didn't take time to hook up my IBook. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to finish Isaac. Hope you did get your present and card though.
Isaac, you are one extra special young man. May you and your Yo Gabba Gabba friends have a Happy Birthday. We love you, and miss you, and look forward to hearing about your home schooling. Hang in there tough stuff, and be nice to your mom!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISAAC!
We just wanted to wish you a very Happy 3rd Birthday! We just wish that we could see you more often :) We are so excited to hear of ALL your new accomplishments; and you will LOVE working with your new teacher. We love you and Happy Birthday, Uncle James, Aunt Abby, Lauren, Carter, and Isabella
Mando
Hi family. Incase anyone cared, I've started working and doing fine. As mom said before, I don't really get to talk to her much. I leave home at 7 am and don't get back until around 5:30 pm. The kids love going to their daycare. Seth finally gets to ride a bus to and from school so he's loving it.
We went out to Lowes, Michaels, Bass Pro shop and Toys R Us today to do FREE easter activites. The kids had fun and got upset when I told them we had to go home. They wanted more things to do.
Dan goes to LA of the week this week but doesn't know where he will be after that.
Everyone have a great week.

Which child are you?

Kat and Sherrill are up to their flea market talk again. This seems to be an ongoing topic.
Kat is looking for items for Sherrill to make, sell, whatever, and came across this. How appropriate!
Perhaps we should change the family name. Which one do you think applies to you?
As for me, I am a cross between the smart and the lazy, since they forgot to include the "fat" child.
Have a great day everyone.

Grandma McKeel

A few weeks ago Sherrill went to Aunt Kay's house to get some pictures Grandma McKeel had.
I came across these two pictures that I had taken. Grandma McKeel always LOVED to have her picture taken. She would smile at the sight of a camera.
Notice how cute Jeff was in that picture? He was just another kid in the family. Since he got married and moved to Pikeville, we never get to see much of him. I guess I need to give that boy a call!
We miss you MaKeel !

Placemat Purse
Kat called today to see if I had ever heard of a place mat purse. Duh....I've only had one for 20 years or more. I looks like the fabric was from the 30's. I use this little bag to store my embroidery stuff in. It's real lightweight, and easy to carry around. Kat was going to get a couple of place mats and try it out.The most popular bag right now though is the "Snap bag". You use the metal strip on tape measures like the carpenters use. I don't know how it "snaps" unless a magnet strip is used.
There's directions on some body's blog that I read.
No news for today. I have been busy working on taxes. I did talk with Mandy twice. We finally have our phone schedules synched (is that even a word). Dan is working in Phoenix this week, but will probably be gone next week.
Have a good day everyone and a good night.

Me
So I started back at work this week. They are putting me back thru training so it's so boring. I think my trainer is starting to get upset with me cause people are asking me questions about the job and not her. :)
Seth loves going to daycare before and after school. Him and Meghan are in the same room when I drop them off in the morning. He's there for about 20 mins then he gets to ride the bus to school. In the afternoon, he does his homework when he gets to daycare then plays. The room the elementary school kids are in is so cool. He hates coming home.
Dan is still alive and is working here in town this week. He'll leave Sunday but we don't know where he's going next.
Okay, that's about it so goodnight.

High school graduation

It's that time of year that seniors are preparing for their graduation. I started thinking back to mine, back in the good old year 1972. My Grandma Naomi was there, and for my present she got me an am/fm radio that ran by electricity. Now this was a GREAT present. Prior to that we just had small transistor radios that would just pick up two local stations. They were battery operated, and when the battery died, you might have to wait a month before you got a new battery. The am/fm that you could plug in provided hours and hours of listening enjoyment. It went away to college with me, and was a gift I will never forget.
Then for my college graduation my mom got me a pearl ring. I don't know if she picked it out, or my sister did. That ring meant a lot to me, but somewhere along the way it got misplaced. I still remember it well though.
So now comes the time to get a gift for a grand daughter. All she wants is money. So, do I give her what she wants, or do I give her something that is meaningful to me, somthing that she might carry on into adulthood.
I don't remember what I got all my kids for gifts. I do remember most got luggage sometime during their senior year.
Question for the day, what gift do you remember most as you were growing up?
Well today was Luke's sign up for kindergarten. He was so excited but trying to get him to understand that he still has awhile is a new concept. Catherine and Jacob went to school with us and it took over 1 hour just to sign him up. Then he had to get his vision tested and do some small skills with the teachers so they can place him. He will ride the afternoon bus to school and him and Ken will ride the bus home after school. Yippee! Just 2 more kids to go and them I might get a quite house in the day time.. So who's kids are going to school next year??

Next quilt

I have a new quilting class this weekend. We had to have 12 different fabrics that will all blend together. So, off I went to Smithfield to come up with something different. This is what I picked out. It has dogs, lions, turtles, giraffes, and hippo's. I am still hand quilting my sister's quilt, and machine quilting Isaac's birthday quilt. It's taking forever. I will NEVER get it finished by his birthday.I spent the morning at the courthouse looking for deeds for dead people. You all know how much I enjoy that! Now I am back at home working on taxes. You all know how much I HATE that.
Although Sherrill pays mostly by check, I still have to go through all the cash receipts as well as all the credit cards bills. If anyone would like to volunteer to help, just give me a call......anyone EXCEPT Kathy. She would have Sherrill getting a refund check for thousands of dollars!
The weather is beautiful and life is grand. Everyone hug your kids and tell them that you love them. Here's a hug to all of you !

The little ones
Well there isn't much to report on. We are still working on the boys rooms and will post pictures as soon as they are available. I caught Catherine in the baby's bouncer sleeping and here is Jacob I know you can't see but he got his 1st tooth in. Everyone say Yippie so he is now on 4 hour rotation of tylenol and he already has another one coming beside that one. Oh and here is Bella trying to catch a tumble weed. Sorry the tumble weed was blowing so it's fuzzy.
Happy Birthday Daniel

Spring is Here!

Spring is here! Can't you feel it in the air? Time to clean out all that clutter and put a new face on everything. Christy is already getting in the spirit. She is moving her kids to their rooms in the basement this weekend. Cricket, we want to see pictures. I don't want my little boys in the dungeon. I know Kenny will be happy to have a room of his own again.
Christa comes tomorrow to help me get in the mood. She will dust everything in sight. I think we will go out tomorrow and work in the yard. It is supposed to be in the upper 70's. It would have been a great day for the beach!
Lauren and Carter came over this afternoon with ball and glove in hand. They will be playing t-ball this year. Look out world!
Hope everyone has a bright and sunny day!
Another NEW RULE
After two hours of cleaning out my car, I have come up with a NEW RULE. When you come and visit, and we ride your children around in my car, before you leave,
YOU MUST HELP ME CLEAN OUT THE FOOD! I got slack and gave in on the NO FOOD rule, and I have really paid for it now. There is Pepsi in the top headliner. Not to mention the fruit loops, crackers, candy, BBQ sauce, and yes Chris, even a casino token that the man at the airport gave you! I never knew so many different kind of sticky things existed. Someone had even left a candy cane full of M&M's in the door.
So the new rule becomes in effect IMMEDIATELY! That was one icky sticky mess.
Now, I know one day I will be so happy to clean up the kids little messes, but today was NOT one of those days! Whew.....have I fussed enough?
I wish I had some little happy pills. By tomorrow I will probably be apologizing.
Have a good day eveyone, and Hey, go clean out YOUR car!

Sick
Yes, Utah has all the germs this week or month. Well Kelli said on her facebook page that she has a stomach bug too. So I guess it's only targets the pretty one's. I am sick the kids are well and my sweet mother in law Debbie is down helping with the kids and dog. Please when you say your prayers tonight, pray for Kathy that she can get some sleep, and that Kelli gets better so she can spend more time with her man, and me so I can take care of my own kids. Don't forget about the rest of the family in your prayers. Get comfy tonight it sounds like it could be a long prayer.
Thanks
Christy
Thanks
Christy
hello
Hello family. I am alive and well. We didn't make it to Utah this week because they have germs there. I'm in Vegas with the Rollers all week. Kathy was nice enough to let us stay with her. The boys are having a blast. Last night I took Chris and Mikey to Vons and to Gamestop. Those boys are such a handful. Today, Kathy had company so we left and went to visit a friend. This afternoon and tonight I'm on Eli duty. I'm not sure what we are doing but I'm sure they'll send me out to take them somewhere. I'll try to get pics of everyone while I'm here this week.
Have a great week everyone.
Have a great week everyone.
Happy St Patrick's Day

Happy St Patrick's Day to everyone.......Even if you are not Irish. McKeel ancestors are Scot-Irish, but I haven't been able to single out if it's more Scotch or more Irish.
Hope all the grandkids are wearing GREEN today. If I had some green fabric, I'd go make Jack a scarf. Oh yeah, Jack and I are fighting again. I went towards him last night with a towel in my hand. I was going to put a clean towel in Sherrill's chair and take up the blanket he sits on. Well, Jack thought it was bath time, and was determined he was not going to move. Jack won, and Sherrill had to put the towel down, then put Jack on the towel. I should have just knocked him out of the chair.

Oh well, that's life.
Have a great day everyone!

Lost Photo's?

I have started working on my next project, and came across some photos. These were pictures emailed to me from Wendy. I think they came from Cindy's camera. They were taken during the Christmas holidays, 2008. Here is what you see:
1.) Olivia smiling it up like the ham she is!
2.) Kelli, Tristen , and Chris. I don't have a clue where they were.
3.) Nate and Eli playing in the FIRE......in DECEMBER.....with NO SHIRTS....with Eli's ASTHMA......and where is GRANDPA?
4.) Olivia and Cameron on the Gator. It doesn't get ridden to much these days.
These along with 100's of other pictures are all saved in my email account, just waiting for Mandy or someone to send them to Snapfish for me. Another project for another day. They are just adorable?

Daylight saving time

I don't know about you, but I have sprung about as much as I want to. Move forward, go back. Why don't they just split it down the middle, and move the clock 1/2 hour and just let it stay there. Do you realize how many clocks were turned last night and today? I have reset three, and still have more to go. Thank goodness computers adjust themselves.
I guess that hour of sleep I lost last night has put me in a grumpy mood. I think I'll just go back to bed until time changes again......oh yeah, that's right, they keep changing that date too! Would someone just wake me up?

Happy Birthday Jack
Well, for all of you that forgot.......TODAY was Jack's birthday! NO ONE called to wish him a happy day. Chris.....this means YOU! He is YOUR dog. Jack Roller, that is still his name! Poor Jack had to spend the afternoon alone while I was at church.
Sherrill didn't even buy him a cake this year. He did get 3 slices of bacon this morning instead of two.
No other news to report for today. Christy did say she sold 5 dresses on her Etsy site, but I'll let her tell you about that. Still no news about Nate and wrestling. Kelli left the message that he goes to regionals. Meghan should start to school soon according to Facebook. OOops, I just read she DID start preschool. I guess I'll have to call Tristen to see what she has been up to.
Have a good day!

What did you create today?

About 2 years ago I went to the fabric shop to purchase some material for a quilt. I had decided to make it for my sister, but had to use purple, because that's MY favorite color. I came home, cut out the blocks and sewed them together on my old Singer. I didn't care if the blocks didn't match up, and I knew Debbie wouldn't mind either. So here I sit, two years and one month later finally quilting this quilt. I had to go back to the fabric store today to buy additional fabric for the binding, and guess what, I had bought the quilt thread just ONE year ago, so I guess I am improving. I sure hope it doesn't take me two years to quilt this thing!
Dear sister of mine, one day you will be getting my 'specially made, thrown together practice quilt that I made just for YOU. No matter if it gets there in the middle of the summer, or the cold winter, I know you will love it anyway. One thing though, please don't let the deers, squirrels, dogs, rabbits, etc use it for their bed. Save it for the Grandkids!
And.....notice the quilting frame? Kat bought it for me a year or so ago. It kept falling apart, but Sherrill finally fixed it for me. It works like a charm! Thanks Kat, and thanks Sherrill.
Happy Birthday A.T.

Today is A T Grady's birthday. This is his WWII picture. So, who is he you might say. For Wendy and Cindy he is the man married to Aunt Helen. You will remember going to his house to spend the night before you went to Bush Gardens. For Kat, Mandy, Christy and James you will remember him as the man driving Aunt Helen around in the Cadillac or Lincoln Town Car. They still live in Virginia in the Richmond area. He turns 86 today.
Now, for those of you that are interested in family history, AT was born and raised in the Grantham community. His GRANDMOTHER was just a child when 2 black men came in and raped her mother, then killed her mother and father. The 3 kids witnessed the crimes. Her 5 year old sister told the police that "Uncle Noah" did it. Uncle Noah was one of the black men working for the family. Right after it happened a group of black men were called in to review the case, to see if there was just cause to arrest the two black men. They agreed that there was, so the black men were arrested and tried. The trial was held, and it made national newspapers. It was even written about in the New York Times. I have a copy of that. Abby's mom and I scanned all the pages of the newspaper reports, and Abby's mom typed them up a few years ago. It is referred to as the James Worley trial. That was her (the grandmother's) father's name.
The black men were convicted and hung. I think that these were perhaps the last people that were hung in this county. Just a little bit of history for you. Now AT will probably never see this, I just wanted to let you know a little about the family.

He's moving on Up!
Well check Jacob out. He is moving up to the next carseat. He still has to stay rear facing because he does not weigh enough to face forward. I can't put him in his infant carrier anymore. The straps are extended as far as they will go and we still can't buckle up. No one can say that Soy Milk can't add pounds.

Hello!
Hi, we have been so busy lately....I have been working in OB/GYN office for the past three weeks and putting in long hours. Randy is attending school two nites a week which so happens to be the same nite the kids have practice. So those days just fly by. Olivia is being Olivia, too smart for her age and always into something (mostly white chocolate) and daning. Cameron is finally acting like a boy and playing soccer. He had is kindergarten reveiw and he is already doing 1st grade work. He met all the requires for kindergarten in January, he reminds me of kelli at that age. Randy is hanging in there finding busy work but nothing steady. All together it is just busy life and we wouldnt have it any other way.
bye for now

Up To
Well my kids are up to all kinds of trouble. Kenneth is doing great, but he is fighting with Luke just like always. Luke is having fun in school, he just has one volume for talking LOUD. Catherine is bossy and loves to throw some tantrums if she doesn't get her way (don't know where she got that from). Our sweet Jacob is doing great. I put him on something called Gripe Water that is supposed to help with colic, gassy tummy and teething, he is so far doing great, don't worry mom it is an herbal medication so it's ok for infants (The doctor said so). Bella is in a bit of trouble she pissed on my floor and if she does make it outside she likes to pee on my front porch, it's cold because of the snow. Kurt is in trouble, just because he's at work again. Oh yea, he did take a test at work for his Officer 2 and got 94%, all that means is that he can be in the position to promote to Fire Captain. It's just another certification for all those who are like what??. As for me I'm just sewing trying to put more items on my Etsy site. Oh and Excedrin is my best friend these last few days. But I did steam clean my carpet last night.
No news....Good news?
No news from here for today. I got out of the house this morning before I talked to any of the children. I was able to talk to my "Little sister" and dad this morning though. By the way Debbie, dad is going to fax the order to them. But, if they do happen to send you an email, forward it to me!
Lauren and Carter were at the house when I got home from church, and Sherrill had dinner on the stove. AAhhhh, the perfect world.......that was at least until Sherrill started about the flea market idea .... AGAIN. Kat, I'm staying out of this one. It's up to you and Sherrill. The two of you can figure it out!
Thursday night is TV night. No sewing today.
So.......what's YOUR child doing in school?

Let's VOTE
Ok Sister's and Brother I want us to vote, every year at Christmas some of us choose certain families to get for and not others. Because we have to many siblings and a load of nieces and nephews. It would be alot easier if we just got a different family name every year and got for that family. Then we don't have to feel bad that we didn't get for everyone or for no one. We do this in Kurt's family and it works out great. I can start early in the year making things and then have them ready for Christmas. So what do you think.... But the only way this can work is if Kathy stop buying for everyone, and James you gotta let go of some of your money and buy for one of your siblings family. I'm not talking presents for everyone, it could be a group gift like a movie and bag popcorn, or a board game. Here is the list for this year and next.
2010
Wendy gets for James
Cindy gets for Wendy
Kathy gets for Cindy
Mandy gets for Kathy
Christy gets for Mandy
James gets for Christy
2011
Wendy get for Christy
Cindy gets for James
Kathy gets for Wendy
Mandy gets for Cindy
Christy gets for Kathy
James gets for Mandy
So on the comment section please cast your vote. As for Kelli it all depends where she is living at by Christmas time. So yes Kelli you get a vote to, but Grandma your vote doesn't count.. So vote now

Uncle Rudy

Here are new pictures of Uncle Rudy. Now, those of you that know Uncle Rudy remember that back in June he was infected with the Guillian Barre virus and has been unable to walk since then. His daughter and I stayed with him 24 hours a day from the end of June until September when he got out of the hospital. He still needs someone with him pretty much all the time. I spent 5 hours with him on Monday. My camera was in my pocketbook from Lauren's party on Saturday, so I had to take some pics. While I was there he even cooked dinner for me! Now tell me, how often do you get an 82 year old man to cook for you? Sure hope Sherrill can still cook at that age!
Seth and his girlfriend....
So all this week Seth has his schools book fair. His class was going on Monday. Sunday night Dan wasn't home so Seth and I went and took money from his bank since Dan had my cash. So Seth leaves for school with money for two books he wanted. When he gets home he tells me all about his day. Then he shows me one book. I ask him about the other one and he said his girlfriend really wanted that book to so he gave her his money so she could buy it for her.
This little girl is driving me crazy.

Air Head
I know that I should have been born blonde, because I was sitting at home today and at 2:30 Kenneth comes walking in. I said Ken why are you home, and then he informs me that he gets out early all this week because of parent teacher conf. Well good thing I was home and not running around town or Ken would have been locked out. That just goes to show everyone that you can dye your hair and still be a blonde at heart.. :)
Drama Drama Drama
Need I say more? I've had a pretty long 1 1/2 weeks. After a few fights, lots of crying and even three cops visiting we are all alive. No worries, I didn't hurt anyone, well besides Dans bite mark.
And what makes things better, the person causing my drama told on herself now she has lots of explaining to her husband. I even got a phone call saying she was sorry.
Anyways, Seth is a VIP at school this week. It's like student of the week. And also, its some sort of crazy week there also. Monday is crazy hat and sock day, another day is super hero day and I forgot the others already. Dan is going to read to his class on Tuesday for about 15 mins and I go on Thursdays to let the kids read to me.
So mom, don't worry about the cops. They gave me lots of info and we are fine. I'll call you after I sit down and tell Dan what happened when he wasn't at home. (The cops had him stay with Debbie)
