Happy Anniversary LeeAnn and Will

Today is LeeAnn and Will's 5th anniversary. LeeAnn is my cute little cousin, very quiet, three beautiful little girls, and has the cutest laugh! We love you LeeAnn, and really appreciate all that you do during your summer visits to moms.

i DIDN'T do it

First, let me just say I didn't do it!!

I bought McCalls for dinner last night cause I had a busy evening and I didn't want to cook.  I got enough for mom and dad also cause Thursday is my night to cook and I didn't want to cook then either.  :)   So we all eat and everything goes fine.  Apparently dad decided that he was going to eat three plates FULL and that didn't go well with his stomach.  I got a message from mom today telling me that dad was up all night sick.  Now we all ate the same thing but just dad got sick.  So everyone call and check on dad tonight and tell him that he needs to learn portion control.  :)

Have you read and Junie B Jones Books?

This is for ANYONE with children......

Seth came home the other day with a Junie B Jones book. I first learned about Junie B through

Eli. He was reading these before he started school. I think he has read the entire series of 28 books. It starts out telling the story of Junie B as a kindergartner. I think throughout the entire series she only moves up to the first grade.

This is a MUST read for a child of any age. It covers the monsters, fears, and concerns of every 5-6 year old. Even a 9 year old can laugh at her adventurers. So, the next time you are at a book store, or library, be sure to look her up!

I've been a little under the weather the past few days, and have spent alot of time in my room.

Sherrill came in this morning before he went to work to see if I needed anything. I asked him if he would put something out for Meghan to eat until I got up to fix her breakfast. This is what I found. I must admit, the lemonade, cookies and chocolate cupcake were the only items on the place mat. The oatmeal cake was off to the side, trying to hide. Looks like the PERFECT breakfast by Papa! Oh, and in case you are wondering, I have put all these goodies up, and am still waiting for her to wake up. Love these rainy days!

Cousins

I am a firm believer that you are the sum of everyone that plays a part in your lives. Cousins are a major part of this. Whether the cousins are "just down the street", or in a neighboring state, the connection is always there. You learn this even more when your own children grow up, and have their own "Cousins".

The kids pictured above are the first 7 grandchildren of my parents. These are the ones that were photographed the most. By the time the others came, it seemed as though there was no time for the trips to Olan Mills.

In the top picture the first little boy Chris is now the proud father to the triplets you have seen . Travis on the far end of the 1st road is the proud parent of Travis Jr, Brooke and Sydney.

Troy, the little blonde on the first row has 2 beautiful sons Austin and Shane, and recently married the newcomer to our family, Holly.

Missing from the picture are Larry's children Brandon, Tristen ,Daniel, and Brit, and Joey's

Joseph, Cindy, and Nicholas. I wonder if we will get a picture of all of these cousins now that they are "All grown up"?

Can't you just look at this face and tell that she is sick. My poor Cat. We were up every 3 hours last night, trying to break her fever. But it's still there. 101.7 last time I checked. I missed a dose lastnight and it went to 103.6. Yikes!! Good thing I have food storage meds. that and the Jello

Kenny lost a tooth, he received 8 quarters for it. This morning he counted his money and lined them up by there dated when made. What other kid would do that? Guess just my sweet Kenny. See his money in front of his cereal bowl

The kids were allowed to "cross the line" this afternoon and come for a visit. Don't they look just SO HAPPY! ! ! !

Sleeping Beauty

Meghan came in the house earlier and said, "Gwamaw, I'm tired." I asked her what has she been doing. She replied "Helping you, helping Papa rake leaves, cut grass, driving the lawnmower. Just EVERYTHING"! She went over to the couch, grabbed a pillow, and passed out in Papa's chair. He came inside, looking a little tired himself, got ready to sit down, and there she was......... our little Sleeping Beauty!

Tooth Fairy anyone?

While talking with some of the grandkids last week, I learned there were two visits from the tooth fairy. Seth lost one of his canine teeth, and Eli lost one of his premolars..

Question for the day, How many teeth are your child missing, and what's the going rate for a tooth?

So, Sto is sporting a new look. Reports have it that his mom let him and Eli color their hair for what was supposed to be blonde. It ended up as Eli said "McDonald orange". Eli was impressed with his. It made him the center of attention is school. The kids called him M&M.

Jack's Party

This afternoon we had Jack's party. We ordered 24 cupcakes, placed tightly together with mounds of vanilla frosting which made it look like a birthday cake. We had planned on it being a surprise for Jack and Sherrill, but yesterday Sherrill picked up the phone to call to order a cake. I had to ruin the surprise and tell him cupcakes were coming. Mandy bought him a bag of Pupperoni, his favorite treat.

Jack turns 8 years old today. Sherrill is so proud of his baby. Me and Jack continue to have our "issues". We get along fine unless Sherrill is in the house, then all heck breaks loose. We will be having cupcakes and ice cream later today, so stop by for a visit.

Meet Me at the Line!

My dear little "neighbors" AKA grandkids are always getting in trouble for leaving their yard and running to Grandma's house. Carter is the most experienced, slipping out, finding his Papa, and getting his Pepsi and candy. I TRY NOT to reinforce this "running away" behavior, but it's hard to do. EVERYONE should be allowed to run away to Grandma's!

Yesterday I had them to meet me at"the property line" and I showed them where their yard stopped, and ours began. I told them I would get Papa to paint a straight line so they could remember. A few hours later Sherrill came in and said the kids were waiting for me at "the property line". So, I go out with tootsie rolls in hand to visit with my "little darlings" and to reinforce them for stopping at "THE LINE".

Sherrill has to get some bright orange paint to paint the line, although Lauren did ask for purple. I guess I'll get some walkie talkies so they can let me know when to meet them at "The Line".

I was wondering if any of my family would be prepared if something happened. (like in Japan) Can your family survive with no power? Can you pick up and leave your home in the event of a Forest Fire? Mom and Dad that would be a backyard fire that you forgot to put out. Let me know what you think and tell me what you have done to help your family prepare for the worst!

"Pig meat" I replied.

"What's pig meat doing in my beenie weenies?"

"It's like bacon, it makes them taste better." (me)

Meghan: "You keep it. I don't want PIG MEAT in MY beenie weenies".

I didn't KNOW you had to remove the meat from beenie weenies. Go figure!

Me: Meghan, go on the front porch and bring me that flower pot.

Meghan: Grandma, are you afraid?

Me: Afraid of what?

Meghan: Afraid of the steps.

Me: No Meghan, I'm not afraid of the steps. Why would you think that?

Meghan: Grandma, I know you HATE going down those steps!

Me: Girl, go get me that flower pot (we had to plant Seth's cabbage plant).

Kid Update

These are the facts as I know them.........

Chris has completed wrestling for the year, receiving an award for most improved and lettering.

Eli continues with his allergies, missing school, and coming in 2nd place in the Pinewood Derby.

Isaac continues to be a mean "trying to walk machine" and cries every time Kat is on the phone.

Kenny got in trouble at school for NOT wanting to write a letter to a girl that is leaving. (I'm on his side with this one!)

Luke really likes school. I forgot what he told me last.

Catherine and Christy recently fell in the snow and ice on their way into school.

Jacob......I have no idea any news.

Cameron has started soccer.

Olivia continues with dance, practicing double time for an upcoming performance.

Nate has recently wrestled in a District meet, and is moving on to Regionals.

Tristen has started piano lessons. I haven't talked to her since she started.

Seth is being Seth. Lovable at times, hard headed at others. He came home from school with a cabbage plant for us to grow. It's supposed to grow to be 30-50 pounds.

My dear little Meghan is now the Queen of the house. She keeps us all hopping!

Lauren is as beautiful as ever, and recently got in trouble at school for would you believe TALKING?

Carter still likes school, and the other kids don't seem to be picking on him as much.

Izzy is talking more and more every day, and can run as fast as lightening, waddling as she runs!

Kelli is back at work, so I reckon Blake is with her.

Trip to Ma's

Saturday Mandy, the kids, and myself went to Ma's house. Mandy slept, the kids played.

My brother Larry came by with Tristen, Britt, and Britt's boyfriend Anthony.

Debbie had to work, and we missed seeing her. She's our favorite cook!

Today (Tuesday) is Debbie's and Bone's anniversary. You are safe this year sis, no picture.
