Pictures of Reno

Another fun day in Reno.
Tomorrow Virginia City.

Sherrill on Vacation

Sherrill, Joe and Eli went out to play today while Kat, Chris, Isaac, and myself ran errands. Christy headed back home this morning with Kenny, Luke, Catherine, and Jacob. Those kids really had fun.
Christy spent a lot of time cooking and supervising (the kids were in LOVE with Isaac's  swing).
For lunch Chris carried Joe and Sherrill out to a sports bar to watch a game and eat. Kathy and I chose a little speciality hamburger drive-through.
Late afternoon Kat carried Sherrill and myself to downtown Reno to see all of the lights and excitement. It is just like a "little Vegas". Sherrill wanted his picture taken with the Reno sign, but you have to stand in the middle of 4 lanes to traffic to do that. So, Kat took one with her phone with NO Sherrill. They will have to go back EARLY one day before the traffic is out!
Vacation is going great. I think we will be headed to Lake Tahoe tomorrow.
Hope all is fine with all of you.

I ate the WHOLE thing!

Everyone LOVES Isaac's swing!

The working man off to work!
The girls left about 4:30 AM to go shopping. They came home, took a break, now they took Sherrill and are off again. Joe just left on his bike for work.....4 hours away in 30 degree weather. Chris is off to work, and the kids are having a blast! The shoppers will be home for lunch, then off again this afternoon.

Merry Christmas

First pictures received today was of Blake.

Later on in the day came pics of Tristen and Nate.

Tomorrow I will include the Rollers and McEwans.
That leaves you Murrays, McKeels, and Mandy!

UPDATE:  New Picture just arrived.......

It looks like Ipads and tablets were the top items this year. And I know of one other guitar.

Let there be music and laughter! ! !

How Did They DO THAT?

Google + Auto Awesome

I got up this morning to check my mail, and Google+ had sent me a video. They had taken a group of my pictures and made a video of them. How did they do that?
Now, if the NSA (National Security Agency) had done the same thing, I would have been a little pissed, but this was was really nice. It included pics of Chris and Jamieson on our DC trip, Izzy's birthday party, Kelli, Blake, and Chris, Lauren, Carter, and Izzy, Eli and Isaac, the Murray kids, Seth and Meghan, and I don't know who else. I just went back to watch it again, and it's gone.

Question for the day…….. How did they do that?

Merry Christmas Tristen!

Hey Tristen,
I LOVE your new picture.
We miss hearing from you. Hope you enjoy your time away from school.
See if you can get a picture of Nate!

Early Christmas

Christy's kids got to celebrate Christmas a little early. Kurt has gone back to work, and won't be home until the 26th. Santa will still arrive on Christmas Eve night, but family presents were opened while Kurt was home with them. It looks like the two little ones are enjoying their new presents!
I've never seen Jacob so still!

Another Christmas Program…….

This was probably by far the most creative Choir program. Eli's group did the Polar Express with the
kids wearing their PJ's for the concert. As you can see Eli is clad in his Pajamas, robe, and even slippers. He was able to wear this outfit to the concert, and to school the next day when they performed again.
You ROCK Eli!

New Christmas Decoration…..for Next Year

Look at these!
How cool is that?
I'm going to make some next year to decorate the yard.
It is chicken wire, shaped into a ball, with lights run through it. Then you can just stake it to the ground.
I think they are so cute.

Cameron's dirt pile

Little sand box
I really like that Randy built Cameron a sand box when he was small. Cameron loves to stay outside, and he has spent a lot of time in this sand box. But. what's a guy to do as he gets older……
BIG sand pile
Get a larger sand pile of course!

Chris and Isaac

Do you ever go to Kat's countingtoten.com blog?  I check it out a couple of times a week. I came across this picture of Chris and Isaac that I really liked. SO, as usual, I stole it!

Next year Christmas Tree……...

I am sitting here watching a move something about Christmas on the Bayou and I saw a Mardi Gras Christmas tree. Now, you girls know how much I love Mardi Gras, so this will be the perfect tree! (Note to self…. go dig up pictures of the girls from the past at Mardi Gras.)
So, when you are doing your after Christmas shopping, let me know if you see anything that will be just Perfect for my tree!

Grandma Cat and Grandaddy Joe

We went to Elizabeth City yesterday. Sherrill had carried his broken heater there to get fixed. He has a house to paint, and in this cold weather, he needs all the heat he can get.
Grandma and Grandaddy were doing fine. Grandma is sitting there getting ready to eat her sweet potato casserole. Right before we got there Sherrill called her and told her to get up and put her teeth in, that we were on our way. She finished up just in time!

Who is this man?

I just got this email

Judy, This is Bill Horne from Arkansas.  You have been doing some family search for me. I need to know if this is a good e-mail address to contact you.   If you get this, call me @ 1-501-944-XXXXX    Thank you   Bil Horne

I'm trying to think what kind of spam this is, then I vaguely remember the name. So, I call the number.
As soon as he picked up the phone I hear off in the distance him talking to himself……."Who is calling me from this area code? I don't even know where it is!" I explained to him that I was calling him because HE asked me to. He went on to tell me that he didn't know me. I read his email to him and he said, "Oh, this is Judy". Why didn't you say so in the first place?
It seems as though I did some research for him about 12 years ago. I was doing research for a lady from church, and she wanted me to help her sister do her husbands, so I did, and somehow ran across "Bill", and sent him a copy of everything I found.
Bill is 75 now, turning 76 December 22. He wanted to send me money for all the work I had done (12 years ago).
He said he knew it was late, but he felt as though I should be paid for all my work. After a lot of negotiations, we decided he could take me to lunch at Wilbers or Western Sizzlin the next time he comes to town.
It kind of gives you a good feeling to know that others value your work! I feel very "special" now! Thank you Bill!

Letter to Santa

Such a sad letter. I want nothing. I already have everything I need.
Sounds like something an old person would write, not a 12 year old.

Cold, rainy on the outside, but warm on the inside…..

Who goes out in 35 degree weather, with rain ……. well, that would be Sherrill and Wendy, Cameron and Olivia, and ME! We met up this morning for shopping, and lunch. And Baby was it cold outside!
Real cold! Mandy, thanks for the coupons. We ended up saving $50.00!
Liv playing her game.

Cameron waiting for the food.

These kids love making faces.

It was great spending time with all of you today!
Remember sleepover at Grandma's in January. Start practicing on your scariest stories!

Visitors for the day

Today was filled with visitors. Christa came by after lunch. Mandy, Woody and the three kids came by, followed by Kelli and Blake. Then Mandy again! I didn't take pictures of the first group, we were too busy talking.
Here's a few of Blake though.

Next came the entertainment.
Turn up the volume for this one.
Blake was eating angry birds fruit snacks, so Sherrill had to make up a song!

The FDA is at it again

I got an email tonight from 23andme.com. They are the ones that did my DNA testing. They have been fighting with the FDA for over a year now for the right for individuals to have access to their own genetic information. The Government doesn't want you to have that right. Here is a copy of the email I received. My DNA is MY Dna and my genomes (genome is the entirety of an organism's hereditary information) are mine and mine alone. I should have all rights to them!

Dear 23andMe Customers,

I'm writing to update you on our conversation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and how it impacts you.

If you are a customer whose kit was purchased before November 22, 2013, your 23andMe experience will not change. You will be able to access both ancestry and health-related information as you always have.

23andMe has complied with the FDA's directive and stopped offering new consumers access to health-related genetic results while the company moves forward with the agency's regulatory review processes. Be sure to refer to our 23andMe blog for updates.

We stand behind the data we have generated for customers. Our lab partner adheres to strict quality standards that are part of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 - known as CLIA. These are the same standards used in the majority of other health and disease-related tests.

You are among the first people in the world to ever get access to their genomes. You are genetic pioneers. Thank you for your ongoing support and we look forward to continuing to serve you.

It's Almost 10:30 PM…………..

Do you know where your mom/grandma is??????

Well, I'm sitting here watching the Grammy nominations concert and folding laundry.

The first song up was the "Twenty dollars in my pocket" song. I think it's called Thrift Shop, Thrift store…..something like that. Chris and Eli first introduced it to me. I started dancing and singing it, and
Sherrill got Jack and went to his room.
Next up was a Taylor Swift song "I knew you were trouble". Tristen, this one is for you. I know you are going to meet a lot of guys that will be nothing but trouble. I like the part in it that goes eeeee.
Oh well, back to my laundry. There's another load in the washer and one in the dryer. I going to go back to the couch, and "boogie down"!

First Lost Tooth

One tooth gone……..lots more to go.
You rock Catherine!

Uncle Rudy

Yesterday Sherrill went with me to Uncle Rudy's house. When we got there he was sitting back working on his tractor. I knew that would make a good picture.
Cameron, look at all the junk out at his barn. You would be surprised at all of the goodies you can find there, and acres and acres of dirt and fields. Even a cemetery for people, and one for old cars.
