LAUREN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY
.jpg)
Lauren had a wonderful time at her birthday party! We decided to do it at A Step of Class, where she is in her 3rd year of dance :) Her cake was just beautiful; if I should say so myself! I racked my brain trying to come up with something to put on her cake - hope you like. After having 2 kids birthday back to back, I'm glad we get to wait till Oct for the next!

MY 18TH BIRTHDAY
ok so i hope nobody has forgotten about my 18th birthday coming up :) its march 16th if anybody has forgot! well if anybody is curious about what i want mainly it is money. i do not want any gift cards for anything. just money mainly. im trying to save for a car. so just an idea :)
funny mom
Hahaha. You're so funny mom. Yes Seth is in the back row between the girls. He had a blast at his presentation. He was Jefferson Davis. Parents got to ask the kids questions and Seth got all the answers right. He was so excited. I have video of the kids singing that I'll try to post.
The kids are great. Meghan got to see Kathy on Friday has been playing with her buddy Jade that lives in Vegas. Seth has been playing games all night and all day. I'm getting a cold so I've been taking meds. Yes, my phone has been turned off most of the week but I do check messages once or twice a day.

Rants and Raves of an old woman
Today has been one of those days. My life is generally simple and easy going, and I am USUALLY in a pretty good mood. Today however has been quite an exception. It all started when I tried to order a $3.58 part for my dad. It took 2 1/2 hours of doing nothing else but trying to get this part ordered. Oh well, it's to late by now to go to sewing class, so I will just pay bills online. No problem....simple....right?
Wrong again.
I recently combined my internet, digital phone, and digital tv services. Bundling them has saved me quite a bit of money, but this is only good for 2 years. In the fine print it tells me....60 days before the 2 years is up, I have to notify them of my intentions. If I don't then later if I try to cancel they will charge me 200.00 plus so much percent..yada yada... So, I called them up to tell them, please schedule me to cancel my digital tv within this 60 days prior to my 2 year contract. I don't need the 500 channels, and I don't even understand all the functions of the remote.
Well, NO,THEY CAN'T DO THAT. I have to notify them within this 60 days.....so on.
So, now I have to remember to notify Time Warner before Jan 29,2012 to cancel digital cable.....
I have to notify Onstar before Jan 15, 2011 to order new minutes, or I loose my old ones.
I have to cancel a subsciption to genealogybank before Feb something 2012 or they will automatically bill my credit card for another 2 years......
And, the list goes on and on.
The question is......why can't you just cancel something when you want to without all the penalties, interest, and consequences. Kids, you better start reading the fine print, especially in the credit card inserts you get. They have started doing some wicked things.
Oh, tomorrow has to be a better day!

Day out with the Grandkids

Lauren's birthday is Friday, so today she and I went out shopping for a birthday present. Carter wasn't about to be left out, so he spent the morning with Papa out doing things that men do.......hang out at Lowes and go have the oil changed in the van.
They came back over this afternoon, so I took a couple of pictures. They are just as cute as ever!
I love being southern
I LOVE Being Southern...
•Only a Southerner knows the difference between a hissie fit and a conniption fit, and that you don't "HAVE" them, you "PITCH" them.
•Only a Southerner knows how many fish, collard greens, turnip greens, peas, beans, etc., make up "a mess."
•Only a Southerner can show or point out to you the general direction of "yonder."
•Only a Southerner knows exactly how long "directly" is -- as in: "Going to town, be back directly."
•Even Southern babies know that "Gimme some sugar" is not a request for the white, granular sweet substance that sits in a pretty little bowl in the middle of the table.
•All Southerners know exactly when "by and by" is. They might not use the term, but they know the concept well.
•Only a Southerner knows instinctively that the best gesture of solace for a neighbor who's got trouble is a plate of hot fried chicken and a big bowl of cold potato salad. If the neighbor's trouble is a real crisis, they also know to add a large banana puddin!
•Only Southerners grow up knowing the difference between "right near" and "a right far piece." They also know that "just down the road" can be 1 mile or 20.
•Only a Southerner, both knows and understands, the difference between a redneck, a good ol' boy, and po' white trash.
•No true Southerner would ever assume that the car with the flashing turn signal is actually going to make a turn.
•A Southerner knows that "fixin" can be used as a noun, a verb, or an adverb.
•Only Southerners make friends while standing in lines. We don't do "queues," we do "lines"; and when we're "in line," we talk to everybody!
•Put 100 Southerners in a room and half of them will discover they're related, even if only by marriage.
•Southerners never refer to one person as "ya'll."
•Southerners know grits come from corn and how to eat them.
•Every Southerner knows tomatoes with eggs, bacon, grits, and coffee are perfectly wonderful; that red eye gravy is also a breakfast food; and that fried green tomatoes are not a breakfast food.
•When you hear someone say, "Well, I caught myself lookin'," you know you are in the presence of a genuine Southerner!
•Only true Southerners say "sweet tea" and "sweet milk." Sweet tea indicates the need for sugar and lots of it --- we do not like our tea unsweetened. "Sweet milk" means you don't want buttermilk.
•And a true Southerner knows you don't scream obscenities at little old ladies who drive 30 MPH on the freeway. You just say, "Bless her heart" and go your own way.
•To those of you who're still a little embarrassed by your Southerness: Take two tent revivals and a dose of sausage gravy and call me in the morning. Bless your heart!
•And to those of you who are still having a hard time understanding all this Southern stuff, bless your hearts, I hear they are fixin' to have classes on Southernness as a second language!
•And for those that are not from the South but have lived here for a long time, ya'll need a sign to hang on ya'lls front porch that reads "I aint from the South but I got here as fast as I could."
•Bless your hearts, ya'll have a blessed day.

James a Super Hero ? ? ?
My day started off outside looking at my son standing on top of his house. My college educated son needed to get on top of his house to do some work. Sherrill had carried the ladders off to work with him. So, my intelligent son takes a trash can, puts it beside the house, stands on it, and climbs on up. He takes care of his work, then its time to get down......Duhhh....how do I get down. Oh, I think I will jump.
So, said son is now at home nursing a hurt foot. A hospital visit might be in order.
To all the sisters out there.....didn't you teach your little brother that he IS NOT SUPERMAN? ? ?

HI All
HI to everyone in the family....I dont really get alot of time to post so here is something quick. Finally both kids are well after all the stomach bugs, ear infections and strep throat (even Randy). Cameron starts soccer next week and he is so excited. He is finally coming out of his shell (well sort of) Good ole free sprited Olivia is in dance and loves it. She was invited to participate in the Little Miss Garner Pageant next month. We will let her if she gets enough sponsorship for the entry fee and clothes. She is such a ham. Talk with Kelli nearly everyday and get her updates (the ones she wants me to know about and her version, HAHA)
Gotta go for now....homework, baths, laundry, dishes and whatever else comes up before 10pm
nite to all

1,000 Visitors

WOW.......1,000 visitors to this site since August when it was started. This is hard to believe! Kelli really keeps us going, as well as posts by Mandy, Christy, Abby, and Wendy. Looks like Kat and Cindy are our slackers. I guess they have REAL jobs!
I would like to see Kenny, Eli, Nate, and Seth play an active part. These boys can hunt and peck. Come on moms, give them a chance.
Thanks everybody. I'm glad you are in this family!
Good Morning World!
Hello everyone,
Blogger is not letting me download/upload pictures. I don't know what's going on.
So, if there is anyone out there with an extra picture, please post it.
I'm off to embroidery class today. Fayetteville, NC here I come!
Lauren and Carter are here this morning playing with Papa, or should I say watching TV with Papa.
Have a good day everyone, and be sure to do something special for someone!

I'm alive
So my computer is still broken. Dan was laid off the week we moved to Phoenix so I don't have his computer to use cause he had to turn it in.
Seth loves his school and has already kissed his new girlfriend.
Meghan is still a crazy little redhead.
I start back to work at Wells Fargo on the 22nd. I've been out of work for a year so this will be fun.
I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day.

Family
OK Well I have something to say, I know I normally have alot to say. I just wanted to remind all those that see this blog we are all family. For better or worse, for fat or thin, for all those who hurt each others feelings, for all those who don't listen, for all those who spend money on stupid stuff, for all those who do things without thinking. We should forgive people for misspelling words, forgetting Birthdays and forgetting to say thank-you. REMEMBER WE ALL HAVE ALOT ON OUR PLATE AND IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR FAMILY PICKING OUT YOUR LITTLE FAULTS, DON'T PICK OUT THEIRS.......AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT I GOTTA SAY DON'T LISTEN!!!!!!
Lots of snow !
Yes, we got lots of snow last night. Abby measured 5" at her house. I believe there might have been more than that. Sherrill brought me some in last night around 10:00 so I could make some snow cream.
The ultra sound pic was of Olivia. That must have been a tough one for all of you.
My camera isn't letting me download any pics. I'll work on it tomorrow.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

No news for today
Hello Everyone. No news for today. I went to my embroidery class, but am still having problems with the software that was SUPPOSED to come with the machine.
The wind today has been terrible. On the way to Fayetteville I was dodging tree limbs, trash cans, even a little kids big wheel flew across the road. A big black chicken was on the side of the road, and every time he would get up to walk, the wind would knock him down. Oh well, I made it there and back okay.
Hope everyone has had a great day!

The Dyson DIED !
The one thing I have enjoyed in life ABOUT as much as my kids and grand kids is my Dyson Animal. That vacuum cleaner will suck up ANYTHING, and evidently it did. After sewing I leave quite a mess on the floor, so I have to take the broom and dustpan and get up most of the mess, then I follow behind with the Dyson. Well, I left some thread, fabric, etc. on the floor Saturday before I went to class. Sherrill was going to help and clean it up for me. By the time I got home, Dyson was dead. Well, the beater bar at least. So, now we do have a mess. Would you believe that you can't order a beater bar from their web site? We tried for three days to call the company, and no one answers except the stupid machine.
Carter has started helping me vacuum every time he comes over. He really seems to enjoy it.
I haven't broken the news to him yet that Dyson isn't working. Sure hope I can get a beater bar soon! Until then, it's just me and the dust!

Cereal
Well as you can see Jacob has started on Cereal. He did so good, but Luke had a hundred and one question on why you feed a baby cereal, how you do it, why is he so messy. He also had to lecture me on why your not supposed to feed a baby cereal only bottles. If any of you have questions just call Luke he knows it all. Here is also cool mama Catherine. She thinks she's hot stuff. Must run in the genes. That girl can pose for pictures all day long. Only once you take the picture she's gotta come see it before you take another one.
Also just to let you all know that Bella is doing better, but she is still limping.

"Preacherman"
Just thought you might like to see a picture of your dad. He was on his way to church, so I thought I'd take a quick picture. You can tell how excited he was!I started addressing Valentine cards this afternoon and asked Sherrill to count me out the money for the kids.....17 grand kids, 2 dollars each...... $36.00 he said. Well, when I finished, I had two one dollar bills left over. So, either Sherrill counted wrong, or I left 2 dollars out of some one's card. Please have 2 dollars available when the mail comes to give to the child that might have money missing. I apologize for the trouble.

Bella needs a band-aid
Well today was so stressful. Just like the title reads Bella is hurt. I asked Kenny to take Bella out to go potty well he did, but she was to lazy to walk down the stairs so I said Kenny pick her up and put her on the grass. Well Ken picked her up and instead of putting her down gently, he just droped her. At first she could not walk and then we took her to the Vet. nothing is broken but she is still having problems walking on it so if it keeps up I gotta take her back in for x-Rays.. Just one more thing that happens when Kurt's gone. I am just so lucky Kenneth now understands not to just drop her.

New Family Member
Introducing a new member to the McEwan clan. Isabella!!! We just call her Bella. Ain't she just a beautiful little thing. She is a 9 week old English Bulldog. She is doing great potty training and the kids love her. We are so excited to have her in our family.
On another note Kenneth got $15 today from the dentist because he won there monthly cavity fighter drawing. He went to Wal-Mart to get a new toy. He was so happy.
Luke and Catherine are just the same, playing, fighting, and just being loud.
Kurt just finished texturing the walls in the boys new room downstairs and we should be able to paint next week. Cross your fingers for us..

Mandy's in Arizona
Mandy has made it to Arizona with all of her stuff. Seth has already started school, and he even has two kids in his class from kindergarten. They had time today to go to the park to play.Meghan looks quite appropriate behind bars!
Mandy has a job interview at Wells Fargo Thursday. That's the bank she worked for in California. Her computer is still FRIED so she only communicates with her phone or itouch.
If you loose her, you can always find her on facebook. I guess it will take awhile to get everything unpacked.
According to the groundhog we will have 6 more weeks of winter weather, so east coast kids....wrap up!
I start a new sewing class tomorrow......my embroidery class. I can't wait for that. This is when I will learn how to put your name on the bottom of your undies. No thongs please! I also want to do do the towels with the FACE end and the BUTT end. Now you all know what you will be getting for Christmas.
Have a good day, and don't fall on all the snow and ice.

Will he....Won't he see his shadow

Well, there he is. Cute little fella isn't he? Tomorrow is his big day, a kind of coming out you might say. I can't wait to see what his forecast will be.
Today has been a stay at home, goof around kind of day. There's still plenty of snow and ice on the ground. Christa is out of school, so she will be coming tomorrow. She will get rid of all this dust for me!
Be sure to have a good Ground Hog's Day tomorrow!
