Little bit of this...... Little bit of that

No real news. Trick or treating is over. There was a bag of chocolate candy bars left over (105 pieces). I had to hide it so Sherrill wouldn't be eating all day. When he goes to work tomorrow I will put a few at the time in the candy dish. That man is ALWAYS starving! I guess he works to hard, and needs extra nourishment.

Kelli just called. It's so nice to talk to her. Oh, I forgot to ask her for her address. Kelli, please email me your address. You missed out on your Halloween card!

Everyone is getting ready for work and school tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great day!

Scary

Well as you can see we had a devil, vampire, and Snow White. We had lots of fun tonight. First we went to the trunk or treat at church. Then we came home and ate supper, and around 6:30 we drove up to where the rich people live on the hill and went trick or treating door to door. The kids had a blast. Kurt would follow us in the van every so often. Just in case we got tired or cold. One time Kenneth turned around and said "Mom there is this strange van following us" then soon after he says "Mom that van is still following us and it just turned it's light's off, What should we do". I turned around and it was just Kurt and I said " Kenneth that's Dad in the van. Ha Ha Ha, poor kid he really thought it was some stranger. Good thing he keeps a good eye out with his surroundings. When we got home we just had 2 groups of trick or treater's. Well hope ya'll had a great time also

My little boy turns 9 today.  :)  He's moved around so much over the years and has been thru alot but he hasn't been kicked out of school or been in jail so we are doing okay. 

(Seth, grandma didn't make this cause she's been sick and was at church Thursday and just didn't have time but she still loves you!)

Trick or treat WHEN? ? ?

An article came out in today's paper that Wayne County, and the city of Goldsboro will be trick or treating Friday night. Nine miles down the road, Mt Olive will be trick or treating Saturday night.

Halloween falls on Sunday. So, when are YOUR kids going out? I say, Hey, why not go out all three nights! Isn't it a shame when the government tells you how and when to celebrate.

Just a thought.

McKeel Kids

The McKeel family had a party to go to Friday night. The kids ran over right quick so I could check them out. I apologize for the red eyes and blurs. Just like thought you might like to see some cuties! Just adorable.

What's up with the Rollers?

So, have you been wondering what's up with the Rollers? I ask myself that nearly every day. Poor little Eli has had quite a traumatic week. I talked to him on Monday and asked him how was his day, and he said not too good. By Tuesday, it was, "The worse day in my life". By Wednesday Kat went to school, and the counselor talked with him. Things started picking up after that. The counselor is having a pizza party Monday for Eli and 5 or 6 boys in his class that he would most like to get to know. Thank goodness for a good school counselor. Poor Eli was ready to quit school and stay home. I talked with him every afternoon to check on him. I was really worried.

Now for Isaac. He starts to school Monday. Kat had a meeting with the school nurse to go over all his medical concerns. She met the teacher and assistant, and there are only 6 other kids in his class. He will go to school for 2 1/2 hours a day, sometime around 12:00 to 2 or something. Kat will be staying with him of course, but eventually this might give Kat a two hour break each day. She sure deserves it.

As for Chris, I keep up with him through Facebook. That boy is crazy. He said school is OK, but he really misses Vegas. He had some really good friends there. He started Seminary this week.

That's about all I know about him. At least he has someone to eat lunch with now.

Kat is still unpacking boxes, and trying to get all of Isaac's medical records together. It's time to start finding a whole new set of physicians and specialists. That should be lots of fun.

That's about all I know about the Rollers........ the facts as I REMEMBER them. Or, in other words, the facts according to Judy. I don't think I misinterpreted anything.

Soccer ended Friday for the little kids (Meghan, Lauren, and Carter). Football should be over with Tuesday night, unless they have a tournament. After that Mandy should be able to take a break, and Seth can get down to his studies. He has to learn all of his multiplication tables by Christmas. Good luck with that one!

Sherrill and James carried the kids to Lowes today to build a flying bat. (Lauren, Carter, Izzy, and Meghan). Sherrill came home all out of sorts. He said "Never again", but he always says that. All the hammering, so many kids cramped in a small hot room, and Meghan taking charge got the best of him. Poor Sherrill, he is in his room now having quiet time. Rest at last.

He worked on painting the trim of the house all afternoon. He has about 1 day left of work. I know he will be happy to get it finished. Then comes the fence.

So dad has decided that I need to make him a dessert everyday.  I bought him an Oreo Pie from a fall festival and some ice cream another day.  He keeps talking about Banana Pudding but I told him he was crazy.   Since they are helping me with the kidos I decided that after mom left for church I would go shopping and get the stuff to make the pudding.  And thanks to Kathy who text me the supplies needed to make the Paula Deen (dads favoriate person in the world) recipe, I made it.    :)   I hope they enjoy it.  Thanks Kathy!!!

New quilting project

This is what we were working in class the other week. I started all the squares for one quilt, then came home and put this top together. It just measures out 50X50, but works great to throw across me in the chair, or throw on the couch, or throw on the floor. I guess that's why they call them "throws".

I know, I know, I have to start making something for Kelli girl. I just haven't decided yet.

Baby blues, bugs, or tractors. I'm still thinking!

You know you have a 3 year when...........

You know you have a 3 year old in the house when.....you find all of THIS in your bed! 2 dolls, Tad the frog, pair of flip flops, and pair of socks! What was this child thinking? I was getting ready for bed the other night, only to find these items waiting for me. Nice and orderly, all lined up. The only thing missing was Meghan. I guess she must have forgotten where she had put them. Oh, the love of a three year old......soon to be 4!

Post Party Wrap Up

Today was great for Luke. He got waffles for breakfast, beanie wienies for lunch and he got his dad to come home for dinner. Yes you heard right, Kurt took leave and came home early from work. They were so happy, Kenneth got tears in his eyes. But you know it could have just been the AC doing that to him. We all had fun with our cake, but we will go out tomorrow for ice cream. Oh and a girl at Luke's school gave him a quarter, so Luke came home very happy. The rest of the kids are great. Thanks for all the Birthday wishes

Have you ever killed a Deer?

I saw this picture on facebook of my little nephew Austin. This is the deer he killed, and he is only 10 years old. So, for you moms that freaked out when I bought your 7 year old son a BB gun, don't fret....... there's no telling what kind of gun might be coming next!

Now, MY opinion is if you kill it, you have to eat it. I am quite sure Austin and his dad Troy will put this deer to good use. I can't imagine Chris, Eli, Seth, Cameron, or Carter ever killing a deer. But then too, I don't think they will ever eat one either! Now, there is a good possibility Kenneth, Luke and Nate may kill a deer one day. I just hope their parents are teaching them to eat what they kill.

Isn't it so nice to have a family with such varied interest. There is alot we can learn from one another. In case of famine, I want the Stokely's nearby. About all our family shoots are targets
at Turkey shoots!

Debbie, please tell Austin Congrats on his first deer. I'm sure he will have more to come!

And the secret is............

All summer long I had to keep a secret. Sherrill made me promise not to tell anyone. Mandy knew after a few days, but all and all it was really funny trying to make excuses and explain.

Oh well......down right LIE!! We survived through the summer, so I asked Sherrill the other day if I could finally tell the family, and he said "yes", with a smirk on his face.

I think every since Sherrill met the "Lance man" he has always been intrigued with route salesmen. His cousin worked for Nabisco in the past, and Sherrill has always wanted to cruise around in a truck selling his wares.

Early summer he saw an ad where Sunbeam needed a route salesman. He went to talk to them, filled out all the paperwork, and sat and wait. They hired a man transferring in from Kinston or somewhere, so he was kind of bummed out. A few days later Sherrill got a call from someone asking if he would be willing to help him out on the truck. His relief driver had had a heart attack behind Food Lion. So, off Sherrill went on the bread truck!

The first day he came home so tired he could barely move. He had dropped one of those large things with trays of bread inside the truck, and a few other things had gone wrong. He went back for a second day. He would schedule his "Sunbeam" days around his "Paint" days. This lasted for a couple of months until the man could find a replacement. They offered the job to Sherrill, but he wanted his OWN route and OWN truck. Anyway, Sherrill was able to learn all about the business. He never was allowed to use the handheld computers though. I think he really enjoyed his "Sunbeam" days. We really enjoyed it. We got fresh bread whenever we wanted!

So, next time you see Sherrill, if he has a loaf of bread in his hand, or is hanging out at the grocery store talking to the bread man, don't be surprised. He almost had a new career!
