Kathy didn't cook a traditional Thanksgiving meal on Thursday. I asked her today if she missed having leftovers.
Her reply was NO, that she was making lasagna today.
"Real homemade lasagna" I asked, and not "Stouffers".
Yes mom, real lasagna from Stouffers. No one makes real lasagna anymore. You take it out of the box and bake it!
School Years 2009 until.......whenever. Lots of kids, AND grandkids AND lots of surprises!

McEwan Thanksgiving
Yes, the smallest of them will eat the most meat......go figure!?!?!
And Christy, I see the corn you froze. Good job!
Happy Thanksgiving one and All
Ham is done......sweet potato casserole in oven.
Sherrill's Macy parade is over, and he has finally climbed out of his chair to go outside.
Looks like another Thanksgiving day here.
Yes, he ate all of his 8 pound turkey breast, now he will have a 12 pound ham to devour. As for me, I have been living on turkey and lettuce, and lettuce, and more lettuce.
Happy vacationing to those that are traveling, and for those at home, hope you have a quiet peaceful
Thanksgiving Day, and a good nap!

Let the Decorating Begin
Sherrill finished up work early today so he decided to put up the Christmas lights while the weather was warm and the sun was shining. He pulled the tote from the barn, and when he opened it, he was in for quite the surprise.
Mandy had graciously taken down the lights for him last year while we were in Reno. She had just thrown them all in the tote. His method is to remove all the clips, then put each section of lights in a separate bag and tie them up. That way they don't get tangled. (We forgot to tell her this)
He came inside, told me to get my shoes on so I could come and untangle the lights. SO I did. My part is done, and he is out hanging lights......one of his favorite things.
Next week he will start with the yard decorations. We got two penguins last year after Christmas on sale, and a pink flamingo (Meghan's favorite). This year he has even splurged for an igloo and another penguin, and a new reindeer and sleigh. The man LOVES to decorate the yard. I will stick to decorating my trees. Still can't decide on three or four this year.

What's for Dinner?
This is one of the recipes Kat used while I was staying with her.
I'm giving it a try tonight.
Baked Chicken Parmesan
Ingredients:
4 (about 8 oz each) chicken breast, fat trimmed, sliced in half to make 8
- 3/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp butter, melted (or olive oil)
- 3/4 cup reduced fat mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup marinara
- cooking spray
Directions:
Combine breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese in a bowl. Melt the butter in another bowl. Lightly brush the butter onto the chicken, then dip into breadcrumb mixture. Place on baking sheet and repeat with the remaining chicken.
Lightly spray a little more oil on top and bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Turn chicken over, bake another 5 minutes.
Remove from oven, spoon 1 tbsp sauce over each piece of chicken and top each with 1 1/2 tbsp of shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted.

What was he Thinking?
Here he goes again.
I was filing away some of Sherrill's receipts and came across this one. It shows that on Nov 1, 2014 at 12:30 PM a "lady pick up" went to Sherwin Williams store and CHARGED a purchase to Sherrill's account. Now, she didn't sign her name at the bottom like you usually do, instead they just put
"lady pick up".
Of course I had to call and ask Sherrill about this one. He gave me one story over the phone, then at dinner he remembered, and identified someone entirely different. What is going on with this man?
He better be glad I'm not the jealous type. Paying off the women with paint! Can you really do that?

- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Fill each muffin cup with ⅓ cup of the mixture. Bake for 20 minutes and let cool. Remove cupcakes from pan and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes. Top with whipped cream or cream cheese frosting. Scared the Bejesus out of me
Snack time around here is around 8:00pm. Sherrill was in the shower, so I went out to the garage/office to get some Sherbet out of the freezer. And there he was, a white headed old man sitting on the futon, facing the TV. Yep, it scared the Bejesus out of me. She gets me every time.
No, it wasn't an old man sitting there, it was Meghan's blonde/white headed 4 foot doll sitting there.
She looks like an old man, kinda slouched down in the seat.
One of these days I am going to pee on myself. I wish Meg would hurry up and come get this doll.
She would really scare Chris!
