You know you are starving when..........
........You catch yourself standing in front of the refrigerator at 10 o'clock PM eating cold baked beans.
Well, I have managed no cakes, cookies, chips, or snacks other than fruit, but those few baked beans did me in. I didn't even wait to heat them up. Oh well, you "gotta do" what you "gotta do"!

Learning to Iron
I told Meghan about Lauren learning how to iron.
She wanted to give it a try, so we used the
dining room table and a cold iron!

The Princess is Back!
Meghan is back in NC, and where is she.......Grandma's house. She's coloring, cutting and gluing, things she loves the best. Seth is off to scouts.
Be sure to ask Mandy about her day. She went to ECU to get her books, and returned with ECU flip flops for Seth, a ECU hat for Meghan, and Meg said 3 t-shirts. Now, WHY do you need these items for an education? I know Mandy, I'm just a big tattle tale!

Blake
Sorry it has been a while since an update. We are all doing well. Blake is crawling and has two teeth (working on a top one which will become his 3rd) and just an overall wild man. I am enjoying work. 630-4 Monday through Thursday and 630-1130 Friday. Derrick is getting ready to head back to school.
Meet Squeaky the Squirrel
Meet Squeaky the squirrel. He hangs out around the patio, waiting for some piece and quiet, then jumps over the fence and heads straight to Jack's water bowl. I finally caught him in action. Sorry the pictures are blurred, the glass door is tinted.

Loneliest Road in the America .........
This is the sign Christy saw on her way to Kat's house. It's so far out in the wilderness, most of the time she was not even able to pick up radio stations. I decided to looked it up. Here's what Wiki had to say:
U.S. Route 50 (US 50) is a transcontinental highway in the United States, stretching from Sacramento, California in the west to Ocean City, Maryland on the east coast. The Nevada portion crosses the center of state and was named The Loneliest Road in America by Life magazine in July 1986.

What's for DINNER?
What's for dinner?
Sherrill pulled out the Cajun cooker and baked us up a turkey today.
You just put that turkey in a pan in the wooden box, put hot charcoals on top, wait a couple of hours, and it's time for some heavy duty munching.
We like using this for larger pieces of meat.
It makes for some mighty good eating!

Kat
Kathy will be leaving soon to go to the surgery center for outpatient surgery. Christy is there to watch the kids, but she (Kat) is going in alone for the surgery. Please say a quick prayer for her, the child can't stand pain! We are thinking about you Kat.

And this is how the story goes.........
I woke up last Monday morning and realized I only had 4 months before the trip to Branson. How in this world am I gong to walk around an amusement park, when just walking around Walmart can tire me out some days. My goal is to be able to leisurely walk 3 miles before I go. Well, it's too darn HOT to walk now, so here's my plan.
Last Monday I decided to give up my sweets. No honey buns, cookies, cakes, etc. Just ask Carter, he has already looked for them. All was fine during the day, but come nightfall, it was time for my snack. I opted for Cinnamon toast instead of a honey bun. I know, that's cheating, but I convinced myself it was a healthier "cheat' than a honey bun! Tuesday went by, no sweets, no breads, no potatoes or rice. I continued on until Thursday. I was at church working and started with "the shakes". I knew my blood sugar had dropped, so I grabbed a peppermint and I was fine. I'm still hanging with it. I'm just doing a few carb, eat what you will kind of thing. I'm going to start walking my laps at church in the gym. Slow and easy. I will eventually have that honey bun, but for now it is in the freezer, just waiting for that "emergency".
The last time I have done any extended walking was over 2 years ago when Abby and the kids went with me to Cypress Gardens. We walked all over that place. Do you think I will be up to it?
Just wait, that might be me you see running up the steps at the courthouse one day, just like "Rocky". Um, kids, are y'll too young to know who Rocky is?

Cut, Sew, Press
Today I was able to get back to my sewing. Lauren came over this afternoon and wanted to help. I would sew a seam, and she would iron it for me. Each block had seven pieces, so there was alot of cutting, sewing, and pressing going on. But hey, in the process Lauren learned how to iron! She could even read the name of the iron.

Meghan and her fish
So no....I'm not stalking Dan's fb page. I'm logging in on Seths page and it's on that. For those of you that are friends with Dan, you should see these pics before me. And thanks for not sharing!! Meghan caught this fish yesterday. I guess put the bait on and helped her reel it in but she caught it all by herself. She was really excited.
Happy Birthday
Two very important birthdays today. Pictured above is my niece Cindy. Happy Birthday Cindy. Also celebrating is Aunt Louise. Happy birthday to both of the party girls!

tubing anyone???/
So I stole this from Dan's facebook page. He promised to text me pics but so much for that. Oh well, atleast I got the pic. Also, apparently, they went fishing on the boat today and Meghan caught her first fish. I'll post pics as soon as I get them.
Another one Bites the Dust.........
Another biking accident! Why aren't these kids wearing knee pads, elbow pads, and helmets. Perhaps the parents need to go ahead and start saving for hummers. These grandkids can really do some damage!
Hope your knee is feeling better Kenny. Oh, and by the way, Kenny lost 2 teeth in one day while he was here. Have you ever heard of that?
Child Labor Laws
Carter came over yesterday to visit and to hang out with Papa. After Papa finished working him, Grandma had a "chore" for him.
What do you get when you mix hair color, shampoo, conditioner on a tile wall..........Brown grout! It's NOT mildew, it's merely hair color. After a few scrubbing bubbles (Meghan was introduced to these last week), a brush, and a loving grandson, I now have a clean shower!
We would have kept him all day, but he got that call to come home, so off he went with a smile on his face and money in his hand!

Meghan on the lake
So the kids are in Northern Wisconin for the next two weeks. They are staying with Dan's family at their house up there. They have a boat, which is actually in Seths name, and the house is on a chain of lakes. There is nothing to do but to play on the lake. Which, my kids love the water so it's perfect for them. I'm not sure where Seth was today but I did get a pic of Meghan. I talked to the both of them for about 10 seconds. They are having a blast.
Coupon Deal
Well today me and the kids went to the grocery store. I bought 30 box's of cereal. 10- Apple Jack's, 10- Pops, and 10- Frosted Flakes. My original total was $119., but with my coupon's, I got all 30 box's for just $21.50. That like getting them for .67 cents. I was the store's best deal of the day. Yippee! I would show you all my box's but my computer and camera are not compatible. So now I now have 67 box's of cereal in my food storage. How cool is that!

Branson or BUST..........
I'm still fighting with the lady Karen about the lodge in Branson. She is trying to switch us to the Silver Buck lodge, which she owns. Pets have been allowed there, and I don't want my BUTT plopped on a bed or couch where a dog, cat, or whatever has been. It will cause problems too for those with allergies.
Ya'll need to start researching and help me find a back up place in case we need it!

Packing up..... Moving out
This is what Christy's kids looked like right before they left. Those backpacks looked like they weighed 50 pounds. Who needs to check baggage when you have kids to carry their load? The kids didn't seem to mind. They were just ready to go see their dad.
