So, this is kinda sorta what my stove looks like.
The front right burner is the one I use the most. I'll bet we have cooked 500 pounds of bacon on that thing. About a year ago, the burner got so it wouldn't turn off. You would have to do all kinds of things to finally get the light to go out.
Yesterday while cooking it finally died. It would not go out at all. I ended up haven to  pull the hot element from the base. So, now I need to replace the switch. I have been on youtube to check it out, and I think I can do it! I think the hardest part will be reading the Model and Serial numbers!

Luke's "Luminocity" Test

Luke is doing a science experiment. He show you a series of 5 letters, you wait a few seconds, then you have to write down the letters in order, and repeat them back to him.
I just did my test. Anyone else that is brave enough to give it a try, call Christy.
She will get Luke on Skype, and he will be willing to give you the test.
It only takes about 10 minutes, unless the letters get mixed up!
Come on, give it a try. He needs all age groups.

Sherrill said the white cat with gray tipped tail has had her kittens somewhere. She still comes for breakfast and dinner call, and she has slimmed down. So, please be on the lookout for some new little kittens. If you find them, you can have them!

Oh What a Day! ! !

Let me start by saying...... the lawnmower is up a tree.

Yes a tree!

How did it get there you might ask, WELL...... this is the story.

I told Sherrill I was going to cut grass today. He said, no, he would. The mower needs to go to Mr Eddie for repairs. Well, it's nice outside, the sun is shining, and my grass needs cutting. So, I find the key, and off I go. I don't even get 10 laps done, and it is out of gas! And....all the way to the road.

So I truck off to the back yard and pull out a gas can..... about a pint of gas in it. Next can, empty. Next can, empty. What is going on? He just filled these cans up.

So, he gets my call. "WHERE'S THE GAS"?  He goes on to tell me he carried it to work to use in the power washer. BUT THAT'S MY GAS! His last comment......don't forget my BBQ chicken tonight!

I told him he's not getting any chicken because he has p'd me off, and he isn't even here! He just laughs.

So, off to cut what little bit of grass I can. I do most of the front yard, then head for the back to cut some weeds. As I am making my first loop around, I near the fence near Jame's house. There is just enough room to go through there without the "prickly bush" stabbing you. WELL, I am in for trouble...... The prickly bush is leaning on it's side, and I can't go that way. I put my foot on the brake, and it doesn't stop. I start stomping the brake, and it keeps going. I make a quick right turn to turn around, and there I go, over about a 4 foot tree, then up the Little Tykes Castle, then up the pine tree!

I do think fast enough to turn off the blades, but up, up, up, until I am almost falling off the back.

I finally got it turned off, but YES......my mower IS up the tree. I grabbed the back of it to pull it down, and it did slip a couple of feet, BUT......still up that tree!!!

A morning of work....... an afternoon of road running

Saturday morning Sherrill and I worked outside around the house, then the afternoon we decided to go road running. We found ourselves in Smithfield at the outlet stores, then Cracker Barrel of course.
I bought myself a couple of pairs of shoes, but don't worry, you won't be seeing my feet and shoes on Facebook.
Now today we are back to the same ole, same ole...... He's at work, I am home doing laundry, cleaning house, and cooking a fantastic dinner. Life is good.

Grandpa:     Carter, did you win your game.

Carter:         Sure did, and it was a close one too.

Grandpa:     Did you get a good hit.

Carter:         No, I walked.

Carter:        I stole a base.

Grandpa:    Did the police come?

Carter:       No, I stole it, you know like you steal a base.

Grandpa:   Did you bring it home.

Carter:        NO.

Grandpa:    Well, you said you stole it, I thought for sure you would have brought it home with you!

As usual, we ran out of mulch. But hey, at least we are off to a good start!

Now if we can just get rid of some weeds and get that grass growing.

We are holding off planting our new flowers until the pansies die out some.

Conversation With Chris

Chris:   Grandma, is Grandpa there.
Me:       Yes, but he is out walking Jack.

Chris:    How do you make a snowman? I haven't made one since I was about 9. Grandpa helped me.
Me:       Get a handful of snow, pack it into a ball, and keep on adding snow until you get it the size
             of a basketball. Then put it on the ground and roll it until it gets bigger and bigger. Then        
             make your next ball.

Chris:   We have a lot of snow here, and I want to make a snowman. I can use strawberries and
             peppers. I don't think anyone has ever used that before.
Me:      Wait Chris.......here's Grandpa.

I decided to cut this conversation short. This was one for the old man.

But, Chris has completed his first semester at school! Yeaahhh for him!
Now he goes back to Reno for a couple of weeks, then off to Denver to spend the summer.
I wonder if he ever got that snowman built? ? ?
