They "Got" Me

For our anniversary Sherrill decided he would get me a new computer to do his Quick Books on, and
to be able to download info from Microsoft documents etc. I have been having to use the lap top, and things weren't downloading like they should....... too many unrecognizable formats. So, I come home with my new 27"desktop, get it all set up, and the mouse and keyboard don't work. I change the batteries all around, still no progress. I look for a phone number for HP.......none available.
So I called back to the store, told them my problem, and they sent me over to the Geek Squad. When I purchased the computer, they asked if I wanted Geek Squad for 169.00 a year, and I told them no.....I would wait. Well, THREE hours later they were telling me that now Geek Squad would cost me overt 200.00 a year. When I finally got things up and running, I went online to Best Buy, and you can get 3 years of Geek Squad service for 269.00!  So, today I called the store back, because I had already harassed them too much last night.  I asked if I could get the online plan, and they said NO.
So, I told them I would return my computer because I was having problems anyway. Then she told me I could bring it back, and they would resell it to me.....WITH Geek Squad coverage. I told her I was an hour away, and could I bring just the box. She said sure.
Since things were going my way, I decided to push things a little further. I asked her if I could go to the Wilson store and return it there, because it was closer. She agreed, so Sherrill is off to get my Geek Squad plan for 3 years.
Just got my phone call. I wrote everything down, but Sherrill was unable to explain it to the Customer service girl. So I had to explain it to her, then to their Geek Squad. Guess what, it is good for 3 computers! ! ! Now I can add my laptop, and Mac and talk to them every day! They have no idea what they are in for! The heavens were looking out for us today!

Already..... Again?

Wow! Another anniversary. So happy........ this old marriage contract should expire in
about another 13 years. Wonder if is is scheduled to Auto-renew?

It's Almost "Get Naked" Time ! ! !

With these temperatures warming up, it's that time again.........

Time to shed those winter coats and boots and "Get Naked"!  I am ready to pull out the flip flops,

get rid of those long pants, and show a little skin!  Sherrill is still sitting around in a sweatshirt and toboggan, and I am ready to open the windows to let in some fresh air and sunshine. It will be in the upper 70's all this week, and I am ready for it.

Come on sunshine, I am ready for you!

Happy Valentines Day

Hope everyone got their Valentines Day Cards. As usual, Catherine's is always the last to arrive.

I think she must be on some type of government watch list!

Sherrill leaves the house this morning before I get up to go bid a job in Garner.  I called him about
9:15 to ask him if he had the address. He told me he did, and to look online at Aversboro Road to see what exit number he takes to get there. "Well Sherrill, just typing in Aversboro Road will NOT tell you how to get there." Let me get off the phone and check out map quest, and I will call you back.
So I did, told him the exit number and all was well. Less than 5 minutes later, I get the call......
do I turn left or right? Really Sherrill? How do I know? Let me look it back up. Right, Right, take a right, to which he quietly replies......."Oh look, there it is".
The man has Garmin in the car with him....... don't you think he would use it?
I have learned that as a part of the aging process, it now takes two people to do the same job that it normally use to take one. So, just be prepared to be sure you have a spouse that YOU want to help you through things FOREVER! ! !

My Mama Taught me Better!

I was on my facebook groups, and came across a lady selling 10 basket weaving patterns for $17.00.
Now, if you don't know, this is a good deal. So I replied first, and "won"! She sent me this message.....

I sent her a reply saying I would call her this morning. In the meantime, I looked up her phone number, and yes it was a basket business land line, and even gave a street address. I went to google maps, and saw the location of her house. 

I called this morning and spoke with her husband, a friendly old soul. I called back this afternoon, and did the "naughty"....... I gave her a credit card number. Sherrill had said, "Don't you do it", but I really wanted my patterns! ! !

So, two weeks from now when I am in bed crying my eyeballs out because someone has used my Credit Card, just remind me......I KNEW better!

Grandma Cat's DNA

I just got back mom's DNA results. I was tested through 23andme, where you spit in a vial. Mom and dad couldn't spit, so I ordered them tests through my heritage.com, where you just do a mouth swab.

These are mom's results!  The 45 per cent English is no surprise, but the Scandinavian and Iberian were higher than expected. The puzzling part is the German and Swiss didn't even show up. That leads me to believe they may have originated from one of the Scandinavian countries. Me and Christy  will have to figure this one out!

It kind of goes like this

You                    100 percent

Parent                  50 percent

Grandparent        25 percent

Gr grandparent    12.5 percent

So, with mom's total African at 10.8 percent, that would mean that one of her great grand parents were from Africa. Now, there are some white folks there, but......there are a heck of a lot of others!

Dad's results aren't up yet, but he is listed as My Family 2.
