Luke's First Job

Luke hard at work at his first job!
A neighbor was going to be out of town for a few days, so he hired Luke to run the farm for him. He had to go to feed and take care of the animals. What better way to get the job done than to take along his little sister to help out.
Look at that St Bernard. Doesn't he remind you just a little of "Sam". That is what Sam's mom looked like!

Yep, She did it again!

I was talking to mom on the phone yesterday, and she said, "Well, guess what your sister is raising now."! I was quick to run through the past, kittens, dogs, squirrels, deer, birds, about anything that has been injured or abandoned. Mom pops out with "Someone brought her 7 possums"! I was NOT expecting that one. This would require an additional phone call for more information.

But, before I even made the call, I saw a picture of them on Facebook.
Yep, she did it again....... she has taken in even more babies!

Painting a Deck

My back deck needs painting, and I think I am going to get Sherrill to paint a "rug" on it.
I think I want to design one like a quilt pattern.
How do you like some of these?
I wonder how much he will charge!

MEN ! ! !

The old man has a pretty busy day, running errands for work, checking in on Phyllis, and taking care of a stray cat at Zelma's! He got home about 1:00 and decided to clean some stuff out of the barn.
I decided to go sit on the deck to watch (supervise) him. The first thing I noticed was a perfectly good
tote on the trailer to be hauled away. Don't men know that these things are valuable! He said it was dirty so he is hauling it off. Well, Jack hasn't had a bath in 6 days, so you can haul him off too. It was kind of sad watching the Gator and Barbie Car head down the driveway! The Flintstone cars get to remain. They have a permanent place in history!

Snap chat

So today we went to see grandma cat for her birthday.  Aunt Debbie, Travis & his family and Troy and his family all went.  After all the kids left, we had snap chat fun.

You found WHAT ? ? ?

I was cleaning out the top drawer of my desk, and you can't imagine what I found. Here are some of the goodies.....
*   A matchbook from Cindy and Jerrud's wedding July 27, 1996...BTW HAPPY BIRTHDAY JERRUD!
*   A gift card for Lowes that was given to Kathy in 2003 by Sula, a realtor at the time (wonder if it is any good?)
*   A magnet I purchased in London in 2001!
*   Hand written notes from Kayla and Krystal McKeel from 2004. (We were at the hospital together
when Grandma McKeel was there. I had them writing things to keep them busy.)
*   Old fashioned memory cards from where Mandy or someone worked at the drug store!
You would just be surprised of all the "goodies", and I have 5 more drawers to go! ! ! !

I had better get my stuff cleaned out before I kick the bucket and you Young'uns throw it out! ! ! !

Jack Update

Jack!
What can you say about the meanest, most unpredictable dog God ever created. No, come to think about it, Satan himself must have created him!

Jack has LOVED his two weeks of non-stop attention. He gets freshly cooked gizzards for each meal. Gets carried up and down the steps so he doesn't have to exert any energy or hurt his little abdomen.
HE gets to decide where to sit, when the house members can sleep, and when HE wants to eat.

In the past I have been barred from getting close to Sherrill's chair. Well, last night that all changed.
Jack refused to even let me in the living room! He was in the attack mode, and Sherrill had to come from the kitchen to get him. My first thought was to give him a nice swift kick in the rear, and knock him across the room. But......I knew Sherrill would just take more money to get him fixed up again.

So, I have decided.... no more gizzards. He is back to his boiled chicken. And for the stairs, he can go down them himself, or just sit on the top step all day. He is so moody, the cats still refuse to play with him....even his girlfriend!

I was cleaning out my room yesterday, and Jack sat in the hall watching me. I thought he was concerned about me, so he was just checking in. Now I am beginning to believe that before this is all over with, he will have me banished to my room, never to roam free again!
