Guess Where We Went!
Yep...... both of us. Sherrill got up this morning and left a little after 8:00 to go to the Dr. I slept in until 8:30 then got up to call the office. My Dr. doesn't come in until 8:30. And wouldn't you know, the office was closed. Sherrill was home by 9:30. I left around 10:30 to go find myself a Dr. First I went to ImmediaCare across from the hospital. Every parking space was taken, and there were cars parked in the field. I just rode right through there and went on to MedStat. I was in and out of there in 30 minutes.
Sherrill got a bottle of Amoxicillin and I got a ZPack. Neither of our Meds were ready while we were out, so I had to make separate trips to pick up his, then hours later pick up mine. We even use different pharmacies. Why can't life be simple.......same Dr, same drug store. Nope, we have to do things "Our" way. Just this time I was the "runner".
He still sits in his chair with his hoodie and toboggan on. He did just take a dose of Nyquil, and later I noticed he has stripped down to his long underwear. I asked him if he was still cold, and now he says he's hot. I guess that's what a good hot flash will do for you.
So, give us a few days. and we should be back perking right along. In the meantime, the dining room table is a mess with sewing and genealogy projects, and the outside Christmas lights are still up. But, no fretting here because "after all, tomorrow is another Day".
Happy BIrthday Christy
Happy Birthday to YOU
Happy Birthday dear Christy

Sherrill resting comfortably
Today Sherrill got to eat his Christmas dinner that I did NOT cook on Christmas. We had Chili on Christmas Day. Today I cooked him a fat little chicken with all the trimmings. He didn't eat a lot, but you could tell by the smile on his face that he was happy to see all the food. He's in his bed now napping with Jack. I think he has finally decided that he would go to the Dr tomorrow. You know how much that man hates to spend a dollar!

New Project
I'm starting a new project. I am going to start a genealogy blog.......well, two of them actually. I have so much information in my brain, so many documents, and so many pictures that I am going to pull it all together and put it out there for the world to see.
Kat's helping me by setting up the templates, then I can go right ahead and get started. The new blogs will be open to the public, so I will really have to watch what I say, and you know that will be hard for me!
The first thing I was worried about was people stealing my pictures, and claiming them for themselves. Kat told me how I could watermark the pictures, and look what I did!
I guess if you really wanted, you could crop off their heads, but otherwise, you would have to go through a photo editing program to get it looking right. And hopefully, without going through all that trouble, the person would just ask for a copy of the picture.
So, I'm ready to get to work.
If you are wondering what finally got me started on this, Sherrill's Grandaddy Zeb McKeel had a brother Lon who died in his 50's. A lot of his family then moved to Ohio. I found a cousin that is still living there, and she knows nothing about the NC McKeels. So, boy is she in for and earful!

Pa's sick!
Well, I guess it's that time of year again. Time for the "fat man" to get a little sick ( he's down to 181). He went to town with me today to run errands, came home ate lunch, and then it hit him. He got up complaining of aches and pains (his legs hurt, and the bottoms of his feet). He sat around in a hoodie with his toboggan on, and said he was freezing. He ate dinner, and only ate 2 pieces of fried chicken. That's when I KNEW something was wrong. I pulled out the thermometer, and yep, 101.5. This was even after he had downed some DayQuil.
So, him and Jack are resting in bed comfortably, wrapped up in his Christmas quilt. It looks like I will be able to control the remote tonight. I feel really bad for him. He's pitiful when he's sick. Nyquil will be his best friend tonight, and hopefully he will get a good nights rest.
Izzy has the flu, so please keep the both of them in your prayers.
So, if you don't get your Sunday night call from him, you know why. I'll try to sneak in a picture when I can.

Sometime back I discovered two interesting places in Baltimore County, Maryland, that possibly have a Lexington County connection. The small towns were Kingville and Reistertown. In my family tree my great, great grandfather John Adam Reister married Rachel E. King. Both were from southern Lexington County and made their home in Edmund. Rachel’s father was Abraham King.
An Abraham King founded Kingsville, but I have not yet documented if Lexington’s Abraham King was a relative of Maryland’s Abraham King. It is a work in progress.
Lexington County’s Abraham King was the son of David King who received a state grant of 1,000 acres in 1815 on the head branches of Lightwood Creek and Hell Hole Creek off the North Edisto River. He received another grant in 1814 on Red Bank Creek off the Congaree River. He lived at Pond Branch and is believed to have been a surveyor.
Abraham King served in the War of 1812 under Captain John Salley of the SC Infantry until the fall of 1814. Abraham was born in 1796. He died at age 58 and is buried at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Black Creek in Lexington County where he received a land grant of 200 acres. He also received a grant of 381 acres on Little Hollow Creek off the Big Saluda River in 1814 and a second grant of 450 acres situated on Camp Branch on Lightwood Creek.
Abraham King was first married to Mary Magdalina Price who died in 1842. He then married Anis Taylor in 1845. Church elders Abraham and Samuel King were given by Adam Smith in 1842 five acres of land at the head of the Little Black Creek for the rebuilding of a church and upkeep of a school located on the tract. This church was Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Abraham King’s children with Mary Price were Samuel, who moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Edwin, Lucinda, Maria, Caroline, and Mary Ann who moved to Georgia. (she left out Eliza)
Abraham’s children with second wife Anis Taylor were Rachel, Leah, Jane and Martha Ann.
This is how the pedigree goes......Grandma Cat......her mom Naomi, her mom Leila Pound, her mom Sara Jane Miller, her mom, Eliza King, her mom Mary Magdelina Price that married Abraham King.

Jack's in trouble
Yesterday I was sitting in my chair making a list of things I had to do. I remembered I needed to put an ad in the paper. I was in my chair, Jack was in his chair. I called the newspaper, and placed my ad. The lady asked for a credit card number, so I got up to get my purse, and then it happened. As I walked by Jack, he jumped out of his chair, straight towards my knee, and had all 4 legs/ arms, whatever, wrapped around my leg, biting me. I yelled, dropped the phone, was shaking my leg, yelling "Get off, Get off", Jack was barking like a mad man. The closest thing around was a newspaper, so I hit him in the head with it, and he fell to the floor. I was still yelling, and realized that the phone was on the floor with Jack.
I hit him again with the paper so I could get the phone, and the lady was yelling, "Are you OK, What happened, Are you OK, Do you want me to call for help". I took the phone to the desk, plopped down in my chair, took a deep breath and told her I was OK that my dog had attacked me. She kindly told me to forget about the credit card. It was alright, and let me hang up the phone.
That Jack is going crazy. He's even getting obstinate with Sherrill. You better watch out for Jack Dog!

Blegens
Hey everyone, I haven't wrote in a while I've been busy with school. I have really big test coming up. Well Nate has been doing good in school, has all As and B's. He cant wait till we get out, I know he is waiting for school to be out. Mom has been working same with dad. I have been studying for school. Um well i get my braces off tomorrow and we get new glasses in a week. But that's about it. Bye!(:
Cookies anyone?
Sherrill is on his way to Walmart. He asks the routine question, "Do you need anything from Walmart". My reply, "Will you pick up a gallon of milk and some cookies". We still haven't been keeping cookies or cakes in the house. He asked what kind of cookies. My reply...... one of every kind. He just laughs and tells me that he will NOT get me one of every kind of cookie. Why not? I've been without for long enough! I have been slipping Walmart's brand of Thin Mints. I can hide 4 or 5 in my hand, and he never sees them!
I'm like a kid now..... I want cookies.......I want cookies.......I want cookies, and I want them NOW!

HO! HO! HO!
We made the last trek out for Christmas shopping. Well, kinda sorta. Most of the people who are getting presents are in the mail. There are still a few stragglers I'm not sure what to get. When you buy presents for over 30 people, it really wracks your brain. Some people won't even get a present, sorry about that. I can't afford to buy for everyone. Sherrill wouldn't pull out the saws this year to do some of his creations. Sorry, no squirrel feeders this year.
For those of you that receive a package or letter that states "Do not open til Dec 25", kindly do what it says. That means keep your hands off of it until Christmas Day.
If you have any problems with the kids gifts, you should have the packing slips in the box. Just return and exchange for something else.
Now all that is left is the FOOD. Can I please just have Mc Call's BBQ and fried chicken?

Is tupperware microwavable?
Remember my this "bowl"? It WAS one of my favorites. This is how the story goes.
Last night I wanted some popcorn. I was out of the bagged kind. I keep loose popcorn around when I want low sodium. I usually pop it in a lunch size paper bag. Well, the paper bags were up on a top shelf, and I didn't want to climb up on the counter to get them. I decided I would just put a few kernels in a bowl, lay a plate on top, and let it pop. WRONG. That does NOT work for this type of bowl. The kernels melted to the bottom of the bowl. I had a mess. I had to throw the bowl and popcorn away.
I ended up settling for a bowl of Frosted Flakes, you can't go wrong there!

Shopping and "Pooting"
Sherrill had beans for lunch. An hour or so later we went out shopping. You guessed it! Shopping and Pooting, Shopping and Pooting". I got smart, drove up to the stores, let him run in, pick up the item, and I sat back and listened to the radio. The only problem, he almost ALWAYS makes me pay. He wants to save his few pennies. Why are men like that?

Sherrill and the Ham
Yesterday I cooked one of these, a smoked picnic, for lunch. Sherrill ate on it all day long. This morning he woke up complaining with feeling dizzy. I told him it was from all that pork he ate yesterday. He was quick to tell me that he didn't eat any pork yesterday. I reminded him of the ham left in the refrigerator. He was quick to respond that "smoked picnic" wasn't pork. So, Sherrill, where do you think it came from?
I guess he eats too much bacon and pork chops!
By the way, Jack LOVES the ham as much as he does bacon. Sherrill was eating country style steak for lunch, gave Jack some, and he turned up his nose. I told Sherrill to give him some ham, and yep, that's just what he wanted. These men!

Sherrill VS the Cable Box
See this little box?
It has reaked havoc on my house, as well as my parents. I have the basic cable, 100 or so channels. A couple of months we were informed that some of the stations would quit working effective Dec 4. To be able to get those stations you had to order a box for each tv. The cable guy asked how many tv's in my house, I counted them up.... SIX. He told me they could only send out 4. Any more than that they would have to have a tech come install them. So, on the 4th, I hooked mine up (in the bedroom). It didn't work.
I called to talk to my dad to see if he had set his up, and my mom was furious. She had been watching a court case on tv for two weeks. They were supposed to be giving the verdict, and she couldn't get the channel. She was Mad! She called Time Warner, fussed them out and then they told her to have dad stop by, and they would have a box ready for her. Dad got her's hooked up, no signal. Sherrilll checked over mine, still no signal. I was on hold to Time Warner for over 45 minutes. Finally got one tv set up. Mom had to call, she was on the phone over and hour, she finally got hers hooked up.
I hooked up Sherrill's in his bedroom today. When I left home it said, "Searching for channels".
I left his tv on so it would find the channels and be ready for him. Well, it never found any channels. He can't get his remote programmed. So, he's furious. Now he's disconnecting everything, only for me to set it up again tomorrow.
Oh, and by the way, when you call, you have to pull that stupid box out, to look at the back to find a number. A number that looks something like that was written with a number 2 font.
Sherrill said he's sending his box back!

Kat's Blog
I really like going through reading blogs. Isaac's old blog was my favorite, because there were always plenty of pictures of the family. Then came the new countingtoten blog that gets alot of traffic now, but has a lot of advertising. So, now I have to go through the advertisements just to get photos of my grand babies. Here are the ones I stole today. I posted them here so you wouldn't have to go through the advertisements! See, I was thinking about you!
See, I got the pictures here with the advertising included!

I lost a boob in Sam's
Sherrill and I were on a shopping trip to Sam's Club yesterday. I was loading the cart, bending, stooping, and my boobs kept getting out of position. So, I grabbed my bra strap and jerked it as hard as I could. Ooops, I lost a boob. So, here's one up on my upper chest, and the other one hanging down to my waist. We were on one of the main aisles too! I pulled Sherrill aside and told him my boob was out of my bra, and where were the cameras. "What cameras". The ones in the ceiling......the security cameras. They were everywhere. At every aisle they were watching. So I got Sherrill, turned my back to one camera, and put him in front of me facing the other camera. I put that thing in and got off that aisle really fast! How embarrassing!
