So this is what mom and I did this afternoon. We went to Laurens dress rehersal. She was such a cutie. :) I know you can't see her face but you can make out her and what she's doing. I tried moving my phone around to get the glare from the light to go away some but it didn't really work. :(

Hope everyone had a great day.

Love ya all!!

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day everyone. Hope everyone is ready to fire up that grill and cook some good food. As Isaac would say, "There's a party in my tummy, So yummy, So yummy". We had our burgers Saturday night for Mandy's party, so I guess today will be
pork chops.

Have a great day everyone!

Make life simple

Enough said about that topic.

Tomorrow is Lauren's dress rehearsal for her recital. So, I'll be off to Smithfield to watch her. Go Lauren! Go Lauren!

SSHHhhhh kids are asleep

Lauren and Carter spent the night with Seth and Meghan. All the kids are still asleep.....including Mandy. I guess she partied too hard on her birthday. She was just looking forward to a bed to herself last night. Usually her and the kids play musical beds from the bed, to the couch, to the floor. You never know who is sleeping where. Sherrill is in the kitchen cooking bacon, so these kids will be waking up soon. I think they ALL like bacon.

The garage was the PERFECT party place for the kids. They stayed in there for a couple of hours yesterday. You could hear them laughing and yelling. Every now and then you would hear a loud THUMP and then a cry. Someone was always falling.

Well, it's time to get this day started. Another day, another adventure.

Oh Wendy, I would like for Cameron and Olivia to come and stay while Mandy is here. Check your schedule and let me know when.

Happy Birthday Mandy

Happy Birthday Mandy. I can't believe I didn't post this last night. Abby reminded me that I posted about Girl Dog and not you. Sorry! I know this is one of your best birthdays because you are here aggravating your little brother. Do your best to keep him busy. I'll get together a bunch of pictures to make you a montage. You are such a pleasure, and as soon as we can calm down the kids they will be too (just kidding you).

Happy 33rd girl We all love you!

Poor Girl Dog

Well, It's all my fault......and partly Sherrill's too. Sherrill brought Girl Dog's dog house to the patio to sleep in last night. I just kept my mouth shut while he was setting it up. I did mention once to face the opening where rain wouldn't blow in. So, what happens......Girl dog was left unprotected from the rain. The rain blew in her house, soaking her bed. When I went to carry her out at 8:00 AM her little hind leg was dirty and wet. She was smart enough to turn her face to the back of the dog house. Now, SOMEBODY could have put her dog house under the patio table, OR could have opened the umbrella partially, or could have done SOMETHING.

I've mopped out the dog house, put down a rug for her to lay on until I wash her bed, and now I have to figure out a way to keep the rain out. She can't see to even find her way. I guess she just goes by the smell of her bed. I don't know why Sherrill is so against putting her in the back yard. She could sleep under the shelter, and have a good time barking at the neighbor's dog. We even have a fenced in pen, made with little wooden pickets, but that's not good enough for her either.
When I was growing up, dogs were meant for the YARD. There were no house priviledges.
Chris Roller....you are the one to blame for all of this. You should have never left Jack with Grandpa.

Any body out there want to adopt a blind, sweet little Jack Russell. She is sweet, lovable, loves home cooking, and is very patient. Looks like Sherrill will be building her a little home all to herself!

Poor Mandy

Mandy arrived last night about 15 minutes after I made the post. It is great having her here. The poor thing has been working all day. She cleaned out the garage. We scrubbed the floor, and Sherrill and her have gone to Lowes now to get some carpet. Poor Girl Dog knew something was up. We are moving her out of her home.
No more heated bed. No more cool breeze from a fan. We scrubbed that floor with degreaser and bleach. I was doing pretty good until I stepped in the degreaser. That stuff was just like a slip and slide. I had to use the mop as a cane to get out of there. Mandy finished up and rinsed it out. The windows were washed, and new blinds put up. Air conditioner was put in the window. Girls, you would be proud of your little brother. He didn't complain but a time or two. Tomorrow we will wash down the paneling, counter tops, and roll out the carpet. James has the sofa and loveseat at his house. All we need is a tv, and a little odds and ends. Me and Mandy will have it put together in no time. Thanks Mandy for working so hard.

We were up this morning at 4:00 and sat around and talked until the kids got up. We were outside by 8:00 AM in the garage working. This old MA will be going to bed early tonight, unless of course something good is on tv.

Come on down everyone for a visit. There's still work to do!

South Dakota World

Hey Guys! As always, not much going on in this part of the world. Everyone is out of school. Nate goes to daycare so he does not have to be around us girls everyday and well Tristen does absolutley nothing but sit on the couch. As for me, im working anywhere between 32 and 37 hours a week. I usually work 2p-11p shifts. It can really make to be a long day. Anyways, Jerrud and Cindy still work daily. Oh and Tristen has started softball. I believe she won her first game. In case you guys did not see on Facebook, Derrick and I will be coming home to visit from July 1-8. Him and I are really excited. Im trying not to wish it away though! haha! I will try my hardest to accomadate everyone in my schedule! Thats all for now!

Where's Mando?

Do you remember the little game Where's Waldo? Well, in my case it is where's Mando.
I think she might have left this morning. She is being mighty evasive. I'll just have to wait and see. I'll let you know.
Bye for now.

Happy Birthday Uncle Hallett

Today is Uncle Hallett's birthday. In case you don't know who that is, it is my dad's big brother. He is 85 today. He moves a little slower, but still has a garden and goes to all of his church stuff. He is the kindest and gentlest man you will meet. Happy Birthday Uncle Hallett. I love you!

Squirrels OR Birds

The squirrels have finally found our bird feeder! It has taken them since Christmas, but they got it down pat down :) Carter's Grandpa built it for him; and we sure do enjoy watching the birds and squirrels! Usually we have Cardinals and baby birds of some sorts; but it seems that the squirrels TAKE OVER in the mornings. They climb up the shepherds hook and jump over into the feeder!

Fuquay Varina HappeningsI

Hi everyone,

Ok, Randy survived me being out of town. In addition to coming home to a clean house, he also had time to get Olivia's ears pierced. I hate I missed the experience but also glad I did (make since?). I enjoyed my visit but realized how much I love NC. THanks to Kat for coming out, it was great talking to you and Isaac. Thanks to everyone that sent Kelli a card and money, it was wonderful. Now on the present day. Cameron is on his last 6 weeks of school and is ready for 1st grade. He finished his soccer season and received a medal for his team coming in 1st place. Olivia has dance rehearsal on Friday and Saturday June4/5 and recital on the 6th. She says she is not going to dance because the parents are in her space and scare her. (only Olivia, age 3, has an excuse for everything) We will see how that goes. Randy is doing well still looking for more work but keeps his spirits up hanging with the kids. We survived field day but we were both ready to take a nap that afternoon. (haha) I am working 4am to 5pm M/W/F and 8-5 T/TH so a co-worker could go on vacation until the end of June, Gosh I am so nice.

Looking forward to seeing Mandy and the family soon.

Wendy

Apron for Tasha

Kat,
Here's a pattern for an apron for Tasha. You can find the directions at
http://jonag.typepad.com/stop_staring_and_start_se/2008/12/your-christmas-gift-from-mean-apron-in-an-hour.html

If you start now you will have it ready for Christmas!

Where do you go to ride a Pink Flamingo?

Photo will be uploaded soon. Blogger is NOT cooperating.
So, where do you go to ride a pink flamingo? I don't know. You will have to ask Mandy. Mandy the child that hasn't called home in 2 days. I know she is OK though because she has talked to Kat and Christy. I'm just teasing you Mandy. Grandma Cat keeps calling asking when are you coming to see her. Oh Mandy, while you are in Chicago, go by and tell Oprah I said hello!

No news for today. I've been working on the genealogy for the man that gave me the trees. Christa came over this afternoon to see if a dress could be salvaged that her cat got hold of. I think we will need Abby's mom for help on this one! Sherrill went to Kinston to talk to a lady about painting some apartments. Jack has stayed out of my way all day. I don't know what's up with him.

Oh, Kenny called me the other day to read some jokes from Laffy taffy. His reading is getting better and better. How are your kids doing in school? Eli is on track break, so he is home keeping his mom busy. He told me that today he put new batteries in all of Isaac's toys that needed them, then he took all the sheets off the bed. That boy will work!

No other news for now.

Mommy Rhapsody

I came across this on one of my quilting blogs. Thought each of you girls would appreciate it!
I really am thankful for all the things you do for ALL my little, and big, grandkids.
Aren't you just so glad you're a mom?

Final episode of Lost

Well, the final episode of Lost is on, and that is where I am, LOST! I quit watching it about a year or so ago. My brain can't keep up with all the flashbacks. It's like re-living the 60's all over again.
I'm going to keep on watching it though. Chris will tell me what happened.

Christy has been home alone today, half of yesterday, and for part of the day tomorrow. Debbie got sick, and had to go home. I talked with Christy a few times today, and she seemed to be doing OK. I know she will be tired by tomorrow afternoon though. As for me, I spent 8 hours at the sewing machine today. I know, you're not supposed to work on Sunday, but this wasn't work, it was play.

Daniel, Brandon, and Tristen went to mom's to clean up for her. She was really excited. Daniel took a nap while the other two were working. I think he did do a little work though.

Be sure to check Kathy's blog the next couple of days so she can tell you about the "toilet paper" sale. You will have to see it to believe it!

Birthday's next week are Uncle Hallett, the 27th, he will be 85, and Mandy the 29th.

Have a good week everyone!

Hola

Hello everyone. Yes mom, I am alive and well still. It took 29 hours to finally get here on Friday but I did the drive straight thru!! yay for me!!!

We went to Navy Pier on Saturday night. It was like the Pier 39 in San Fran but no dad, I didn't see lots of gays so they must not hang out there.

Today we went to the Brookfield Zoo, Wrigley Field and to some pizza place. The Zoo was cool. Its about the size of the San Diego Zoo or justa little smaller. The kids had a blast. But yes mom, I do have pics. Dan took them with the camera but the cord is at the store so he has to bring it home tomorrow.

We drove by Wrigley Field. They are in Texas playing but sooooo many people were out drinking and watching the game on TV so we just road around the block and left. We saw the apartments that had the bleachers on top of them. It was cool. I thought there would be room to walk around and take pics and stuff but there really wasn't much.

Then the pizza place is where Don knows the owner so he finally got to meet Seth. He had heard all about the kids and that's where Don and Kathy learned how to make pizza. The kids thought it was awesome that the owner let them have free ice cream. :) While we were there, the hockey game was on and the Chicago Blackhawks won so they are going to play for the Stanley Cup. So I guess we will be watching hockey this week while we are here.

The kids are driving Dan crazy. He keeps telling me he doesn't know how I put up with them 29 hours in the car. :)

Okay, Dan is downstairs doing laundry and I need to get the kids to settle down for the night. I'll post pics tomorrow night.

Oh, there is a HUGH IKEA here. Everytime we go by it the kids get all excited and scream that they wanna go. I think tomorrow I'm going to take them. Kathy, what have you turned my kids into?? :)

We are at the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago.  Meghan needed to eat Spongebob.   :)

Clean up, Clean up

With Mandy arriving in about a week, it's about time for me to get her room cleaned up. It's pretty much clean, there's just some fabric on the bed, crib to be taken down, and a good general dusting and cleaning. The sheets are in the washer and that will be about it.
I spent all day yesterday at one of my favorite quilt shops. I was in class from about 10 til 4:30.
My little heart quilt is coming along pretty good. I have a project here, project there, project everywhere!
Randy, I hope you had a good birthday. Wendy, I loved the message you left. Tell Randy don't worry, he will be taken care of!
Mandy, you drive safely. She made it to Chicago, now sometime next week she will be headed here. Go Mandy, Go Mandy!
OK everyone, get off the computer, and GET SOME CLEANING DONE!

Tombstone epitaph

While I was at mom's she got a copy of Uncle Gibby's funeral on CD. About 9:30 one night she decided she wanted to listen to it. She wouldn't let me clean as I was listening. I had to sit down and pay my respects. This morning as I was cleaning off my desk I found this. I had seen it on a tombstone and thought it was cute.

Remember me as you walk by
As you are now, so once was I
As I am now, so shall you be
Remember this, and follow me!

Honey, I'm home

I made it back home safe and sound. Mom kept me busy sorting through old medical records, financial records, and just general JUNK. That woman saves EVERYTHING. If I ever get that bad, please just pack me up and send me somewhere. For example, I cleaned out the junk drawer beside the refrigerator. There were over 100 pens and pencils. In addition, I cleaned out a tote with her Sunday school stuff in it, and there were 4 one gallon ziploc bags full of pens, pencils and markers. Who needs all of this? She was real protective of what she was willing to trash. If anyone happens to see the show Hoarders on DVD please let me know. That would be an excellent present for her. It really wasn't all that bad, just surprised with some of the stuff. Oh, in all of the stuff we did find mine and Debbie's hospital bracelet. So, I guess it was worth the work!

Dad seems to be doing fine. I caught him in the garage walking on the treadmill. His garden is planted, and looks good. He gets around might good to be 81 years old. He's such a good dad!

I went to the Family History Center while I was there. Uncle Hallett and Ida Mae were working.
I spent a couple of hours there catching up on things.

Oh, I forgot to remind everyone that May 15th was Grandma McKeels birthday. Well, it would have been her birthday if she were alive. So, please wish her a Happy birthday in your own little way.

I'm back in place, so if I have missed out on anything, please let me know. Mandy will be leaving tomorrow to go to Chicago to spend a week with Daniel, then her and the kids will be headed here......Yippppeeeee!

That's all to report. Later gater.

Grandma Cat

Hey kids,
Grandma and I sat up until after midnight last night. Boy was she in a talkative mood. Grandaddy has gone to church, and we have been "straightening up" the house. I'm proud to tell LeeAnn that there were only 4 kleenex boxes on the table this time instead of seven. I guess we are making some headway. But, there were 3 additional new boxes on the coffee table. There were 8 quilts on the couch, that needed to stay there until Lee Ann and Joey come. They were nicely folded and placed in the bedroom until they are needed. The den was cleaned spic and span thanks to Tristen. There was a strong of odor left behind from the insecticide used to kill all bugs, spiders, and crickets.

Now for the food. Three pounds of cheese had to be grated for pimento cheese, along with 3 jars of pimento, and a full jar of Mt Olive pickle relish. Then came the Strawberries. Tristen had brought her grandaddy some strawberries, so we got them fixed. Leftover tomatoes were in the refrigerator, so mom started making a salad last night at 10:00 pm, as well as cooking a bag of black eyed peas. Traveling through the time zones do not even hold a candle to "Catherine's zones".

All is well. Tomorrow we start with the REAL cleaning. Let's see where I can hide what. Anyway, everyone needs to come see Grandma. There is SOMETHING HERE for EVERYONE to do.

Love you all! And.......Congrats Kelli Bug.

Letters to Juliet

Everyone needs to go see that movie. Me and some neighbor's went to the movies, yes Kurt watched the kiddo's. I'm suprised they all survived. Kurt does seem stressed out. Hope everyone got there yard's mowed, flowers bed's weeded and got there plants put in there garden. I did not, but there is always tomorrow.

Graduation

hey everyone!!!! not much going on here! just having my graduation party tonight and then my graduation is tomorrow! very very very excited!!

kelli

On the road again.........

I'll be leaving in a few minutes to go to my mom's house. So, everyone can call and talk to Sherrill. Y'all keep tabs on him. Him and Jack will be home alone......and just ask Abby what happens when Jack is home alone! I'm trying to put everything above Jack's level, but hey, this is the dog that can get on top of the pub table!

Everyone have a good weekend! Christy and Mandy, please keep the blog going.

They're Back.......

My angels are back! I'm just so happy. I missed them. Lauren said her legs hurt so much she can't walk. Carter said he was just so tired. The kids talked nonstop. They have just so much
to tell.
Wendy left today for South Dakota, getting ready for Kelli's graduation. I guess Randy is home being the chief cook.
Christy is still making dresses.
Kathy is leaving in the morning for South Dakota, but is taking a quick detour to Minnesota to visit another heart mom.
I don't know about Mandy. Mandy, you didn't phone home. Everything OK?
As for me, I'm off to class again tomorrow. FUN FUN!
Have a great day everyone!

No News

I have nothing to say. Can you believe that? No news. Just cleaning, cooking, sewing, same old, same old.

What have YOU been doing?

Best Friend

I just wanted to let all ya'll know that my best friend is named Singer. She works so hard and does not back talk me. She let me spend all the time I want with her. She's the best friend. Maybe one day she can have a companion named Aurora..

Just to let everyone know what's going in Ut. It snowed today, Catherine colored on herself with a hilighter. Ken went to school and came home, saying he hate's school, and Luke talked our heads off, and he even talked me into getting him and Cat some chicken nuggets from McDonald's. Debbie is working hard and I have been doing better, had some shaking problems yesterday, but today I was up at 8:30 am and stayed awake the whole day.

Kids and Bikes

Have I posted these pictures yet? The top one is me, my brother Joey, and my sister Debbie.
The second one is Lauren, Carter, Kenny and Luke. Looks like I need to get some bigger bikes for the 8 year olds.
I'm going to Grandma Cat's Saturday. So. if you need me, you will have to call there.
Have a good day everyone!

Why I'm quiting work...

Okay.... So today I look at my paystubs and for two weeks after taxes and insurance, my paycheck is only $743. Right now I pay $250 a week for daycare but next week Seth is out of school so I'll have to start paying $350 a week. So after daycare that will only leave me $43 for two weeks. It cost $60 a week in gas.

Does everyone see where I'm going with this. It will cost me to work so it's so not worth it.

So me not working isn't because I don't want to, it's that pay in AZ is low and childcare is ALOT. It makes no sense to work when it's gonna cost me.

When I go home for the summer, I'll be working with dad and hopefully we can make some money. I do plan on visiting places while I'm out but only if I make money to pay for my trip.

It will be great if I can see everyone this summer. We'll even be going up to Chicago a few times to see Dan. We are hoping he will close a store and get a bonus check before summer is over so we can take the kids to Disney World.

So when you see that I'm on vacation or not working, it's cause I'm not making money in AZ. And if I can take the kids to see mom and dad, visit family and make money all at the same time, that's a good deal for me. :)

okay, I hope everyone enjoyed my rant. :)

love y'all

Happy Birthday Tristen

Today is Tristen's birthday. She is now 11 years old. Only two more years, and she will be one of those "Teenagers". You better get prepared Jerrud and Cindy!
The first picture is my favorite of all the pictures I have of her. Her "sweetnest" just shines through. The second picture is from the last time she was here. And the third she is sleeping under the 1st quilt I ever completed. You know I must really love her if I let her put the quilt on the floor! But oh, looks like she is on a mattress, so it was safe.
It is just wonderful having such a sweet little grandaughter. I only wish she lived closer!
We LOVE YOU TRISTEN and hope you have a HAPPY, HAPPY, BIRTHDAY!

Look what I found

I was reading one of my quilting blogs and came across this. Can you believe it! A bracelet made out of typewriter keys. If I had an old typewriter, I'd be taking that thing apart about now. I don't care much for jewelry, but this is unique. It would be a great present for a secretary.
I guess you can find strange things in strange places. Oh. the lady that made the bracelet has closed down her web site.

McEwan Kids

Christy emailed these pictures a couple of days ago. These little kids are growing fast. When I saw thses pictures I remembered a story I wanted to tell you.
Grandparents are known to do things wrong. Some times it is just by mistake, other times it is on purpose. For those of you that don't know, Catherine is allergic to EVERYTHING. You can't stir a pot with one thing in it, then use that spoon to touch Catherine's food. Catherine's food has to be prepared first, with no cross contamination of utensils or food. You can't even use a dish cloth to wipe off the table. It has to be done with a paper towel, so any milk you might wipe up doesn't touch Catherine's food area. So, after a week of going by these rules, we FINALLY got the hang of it. Then what happens, we go to Kathy's house. Well, Kathy is going green and doesn't see the use for paper towels, "Since you throw them out anyway." After going through so many paper towels at Christy's, we get to Kat's and all she has are BROWN paper towels that some company had wanted her to try. It's amazing how fast we had to conform to each child's style of living. The paper towels was one thing that really stood out. I guess every family does things a little different!

New quilt

So, this is what I am working on now. It's a Hearts quilt that is embroidered Applique. This one is more orange and pink, where mine has a blue background with green and pink hearts. Aurora, my sewing machine, knows how to applique and embroider. Now I have to figure it out. It took 3 hours to make ONE block. I stayed for 3 more hours and got 2 more blocks finished. I think this one will take awhile. This quilt is NOT for snuggling. It will be for hanging. I still have all the other projects I am still working on.

Blegens and Kelli

okay so not too much going on around here. im pulling about 30 hours a week at work. mainly night shifts on week days from 4-11 and saturdays are either 11-7 or 230-11. tristen is starting softball this upcoming week along with her birthday. nate is ready for school to be out and derrick is just working. as for me, im looking forward to grandma sue and my mom coming. as for i have not seen my mom for a entire year. so thats all from here. hope all is well everywhere else.

Japanese Maple

Working in the Family History Center can be rather exciting, and productive. I enjoy helping others research their family tree. Most people are very appreciative, and often will give me a gift. Yesterday a black gentleman I have been helping brought me two Japanese Maple trees.
The picture at the top is NOT them. They are just two little trees about 3-4 feet tall, all bound up in a sack, just waiting to be planted. It's going to be up in the 90's again, so I will just put them in the shade until it cools down for a few days. I sure hope they live.

The yard is already full of pine and oak trees, so a bright red tree will be nice. I'll let you know if Sherrill will be able to keep it alive!

Meghan and Rigel

This is Meghan and her boyfriend Rigel. They old hands outside and are always together.

I'll be gone

I have a quilting class this morning in Fayettevile, so if you're looking for me, I'll be gone. You
can always call and talk to Sherrill though.

I'm off to se the wizard..............

Me of course. :)

Hola everyone. If you don't already know, I am going to quit working and vacation all summer. Yay for me!!

Carter then, Carter now

The first picture was taken Monday before Lauren and Carter's ball game. The second picture was taken tonight after a birthday party for one of Carter's cousins. Who would have thought a party would have done more damage that a base ball? Poor little Carter. Guess Minnie Mouse will have to kiss it to make it feel better. Grandma will miss you CarCar. You to Izzy and Lauren.
Y'all have fun!

Christy's new medicine

Christy went and got her new medication........Seroquel.....used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Now, please tell me, how does schizophrenia relate to muscle twitching and jerking?
I told Christy that I would NOT take the medicine. She called Kurt's uncle that's a nurse, and he also suggested that she NOT take the medicine. He is going to check with someone tomorrow to see what they recommend. Christy and her disease. I just don't know what to think!

All about Christy

OK, Here's the rundown of medications Christy has been on.

1. Amantavine (Treatment for Parkinsons)
2. Cyclobenzaprine (Muscle relaxant)
3. Baclofen (Muscle relaxant and antispastic agent)
4. Lorazepam (What she is taking now) (treats anxiety disorders, nausea, vomiting, alcohol withdrawal)

She gets a new medicine tonight because she thinks the lorazepam is causing her to feel tired.

That's about all I know. I'll let you all know what new med she starts. This is alot of stuff to keep up with. Pretty soon she will have a full medicine cabinet!

Kenny has started on multiplication tables........in the second grade. Have any of you other 2nd graders Nate, Seth, or Eli started with multiplication yet?

Good bye all. Time for the news!

No post for today

Sorry there was no post for today. I spent the day in Greenville with Uncle Rudy. You can imagine how much fun that was!

In the meantime, Christy is busy making her coupon bags. Oh, and she has found a Dr in Las Vegas that has treated sydenham chorea patients. Mandy continues to work while Daniel is in Chicago. Kat is doing the regular Kat stuff, and is attempting to design a web page for Sherrill's painting business. Oh, and she just went to a Coupon Bloggers meeting in Phoenix for the weekend. Abby was just at a festival in Smithfield, and I think they will be leaving soon for Disneyland. Cameron is finishing up soccer, and Olivia will be getting ready for her dance recital. No reports on the Blegen kids or Kelli. I know Kelli is getting ready for that graduation next weekend.

And for the rest of the family. I saw on Brittni's facebook page that the town they (Cathy, Tristen ,and Brit) live in is Ocean City, Mississippi. Brandon and Daniel are in Fairfax, Va. selling pesticides door to door. And I guess Larry is HOME ALONE.

Grandma has been waxing and buffing her floors, and complaining of her knee hurting and her back hurting. A little girl across the street had offered to help her do things, but then she told mom she was an atheist, so mom doesn't want her in the house. I told mom I would do the floors when I got there! But no, she MUST do them herself. Oh that woman! You can't help but love her.

That's all I know. Take care everyone, and remember.........
I love you!

Happy Birthday to Kurt

This is a such a happy day, in 1977 Kurt was born and in 2001 we were married. I love that man. He cooks, clean, and watches kids. Love you honey!!

Digital tv

Since my return home from the west my digital tv has been messed up. The volume goes out, the picture turns into what looks like puzzle pieces. I keep calling, they keep resending a signal,
and I keep having to reboot the tv. Finally, after a week without the Young and the Restless, I called for a repairman. I called about 2 channels that I couldn't get, NBC and CBS. Well, the repairman came and couldn't fix it. The original remote has been long gone, probably 5-6 years ago after a trip from Christopher. He use to always hide the remotes before he left.

Somehow, the V Chip had been set where we can not get channels 7 and 9. He said one of the neighbors might have blocked out those channels, and could have blocked out ours. So, now in order to watch channels 7 and 9 we have to order a new remote, so we can reset the v chip.

Well when I called the TV manufacturer, they asked the usual name, address, phone number, then they asked Date of Birth. I just rattled everything off, because the cable man was here.
After he left, I realized, why does a TV manufacturer need to know my date of birth. Thank goodness for REDIAL on the phone. I called the company back and asked them, why does a TV repairman need to know my date of birth. then she said, "Were you asking about a V-chip"?
"Yes," I said, "how did you know?" "That's the only time we ask for a date of birth. You have to be at least 18 years old for us to tell you how to reset the V Chip"! Here I was a 55 year old woman and couldn't reset a V chip. For all of you younguns out there that CAN reset a v chip, please tell your parents that I said, "If you are old enough to know how to reset a v chip on a TV, you are old enough to look at women's boobs!" Grandma said!

Perhaps it is time to go back to the simpler life and just 3 tv stations. At least that way I will be able to get CBS and NBC.

Happy Birthday Kurt !

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KURT ! ! ! !

Today is Kurt's special day. Another year older. If he was born in 1977, does this make him 33?
Hope the Math is right. Sorry about the small picture. I stole it off facebook. My other pictures of him are on the other computer.

Trip to the zoo

I went to the zoo with the kids today.  We had lots of fun.  Then we were off to lunch at Fuddruckers.  We love it there.  It like I had my mothers day weekend with the kids a week early.

Snow

Well is is the beginning of May and we are having a snow storm. That's crazy. I think that when those earthquakes were going off last month all over the world. It changed the north pole. It is now centred over Utah.

Well the rest of the kids are doing just great. We are home teaching Luke, until school starts next year. Kenneth has just finished us some end of course testing. Catherine is still a diva. Jacob likes the floor. He just rolls and rolls all over the place. Kurt is still working at home and at work. I am still shaking in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon. I have from about 4 hours a day that I feel good. So I try and get stuff done. As for Bella, she is just barking and trying to excape the kitchen. Well that's all from the McEwan house.

Meghan and Seth

mandy, I turned it around so I could see it!

Aunt Jackie, Sherrill, Aunt Kay

After the wedding yesterday Sherrill and the ladies posed for a picture. Aunt Jackie is about 76, and Aunt Kay just turned 62. They still fuss and argue just like sisters! We hadn't seen them probably since Grandma McKeel's funeral.
