Moms got jokes

So talking to mom today i realized how funny she thinks she is.

So no Kathy, i dont need to move home.  Im waiting for you to move here to take care of me.

Christy, mom said ur getting rid of the animals so you can finally rest some so good luck with that.

Im not sure how dad thinks hes gonna paint tomorrow with a tropical strorm a few miles away but hey, anything to be around food i guess.

And as for me, im just popping tons of pills and talking to granddaddy joe about side effects side we take the same meds.  Gesh im old.

Hope all the kiddos are enjoying school and all the adults are enjoying work.  And mom, we know ur enjoying sitting back laughing at us all.  Oh, and lets not all forget Sto and dad have a birthday soon!!!!  🎂🎂🎂🎂

Yep, He failed

I knew he would!
Bojangles has done him in, and he still has about 20 left to do!
He failed almost ALL of the important labs. Cholesterol, UP. A1C, don't even mention it!
I told him, I told him. NOW he is worried about eating right, this AFTER he brought home a double cheeseburger and fries! I didn't even know they even still made those things.

Christy went on a road trip to visit her Dr yesterday........
Mandy go in this morning to see hers.........
And the "old man" has two visits today...... Yes, two in one day........

Somebody needs to start eating more apples!

Pa Working Hard Today

Sherrill was off work today, so I asked him to make me a flower bed along the side of the carport,
under the pine trees. He had hauled in dirt a couple of weeks ago to build it up. Today he dug out the long line to put the landscape bricks, put down the fabric liner, and filled it up with red brick chips.
Now I can buy some flowers already in pots, dig out some rocks, and plop those flower pots right
in place. No grass.......no problem. I will do pansies for the winter, and no telling what for the summer. I might go ahead and fill in with some mums for now. They should last until the end of Sept.
or even longer if the pine trees keeps the frost off of them. I don't think the cats will pee in the rocks!

What's going on...........

So, what's going on in the real world? ? ? ? ? ? 

The old man is still busy painting. He keeps saying he will take a few days off, but that hasn't happened yet!

Mandy is still sick.....she thinks she is dying. She has seen doctors, and more doctors, and there are still more to come.

Christy is in "Happyland". She sold her Cedar City house, so NO MORE RENTERS! Her kids started to school last week, so all is well.

James went to PA, and told me he would call when he got there. Still no word......typical James!

No word from Wendy or Cindy. I am sure they are out loving life and busy with the kids.

Kathy......just got Chris settle in St. George at Dixie State University. So, she's a little sad, and a little happy. Eli is off to High School.

Kelli got out of town even faster than James did. But I am keeping my promise to Blake, I am staying right here.

And for me...... I am Happy, Happy, Happy.......as usual! Take a class, research, volunteer, take another class, research, volunteer, and start all over again! Life is good.

The other week when Blake was at the house we were in the kitchen cooking. He looked up at me and said, "Grandma, don't ever leave from this house." I asked him what did he mean.  He said

"Grandma, this is the house that I always remember. Don't ever leave from here."

Little girls

Did you see the news story today about the mother from Wake Forest who saw a guy taking  pictures of her 11 year old daughter? She went and reported it to the restaurant manager, and the guy was apprehended and he had pictures and videos of her daughter, and others.
I don't think I could have been that civil. I would have knocked the guy up side his head, and took the phone and smashed it. OK moms, make sure you are watching those little girls!  Boys too!

Back to School

Yesterday was Eli's first day in high school. That means 4 of our boys will begin High School this year. Good luck to Nate, Eli, Seth, and Kenny. Make us proud!
And for all of you other chick-a-dees out there, your day is coming!

Lunch with Little Man.......

This little man can eat.....
He started out with a roll....... then off to the Nachos and Queso. He would take a bite, then wow, that's hot. Another bite, that's really hot! "This is like what dad makes in the crock pot, but his isn't hot", he was quick to say. Topping it off was his chicken tenders and fries. It was a man sized portion, so Sherrill was glad to help him with that.
He had a busy weekend......worked hard, played hard, and relaxed with Grandma in her chair.
Now......soon to be off to kindergarten!

Did it Again!

New night.....
Different TV.
I could reprogram ANOTHER remote, or let Blake sleep on the couch.
So, another one it was. After a new signal and a few reboots, we got 'er going.
Here's to a quiet night ahead.........

Yes I CAN! ! !

Here we go again.
The remote control has been working sporadically for the past couple of weeks. I told Sherrill the weekend that I would take it in one day this week. SO, yesterday on my way to church, I stopped by Time Warner and picked me up a new one. I had forgotten to leave Sherrill a note NOT to touch the TV.
Well, he got home, his soaps were on, so that was the end of my TV. He readjusted every button, knob, cord, anything he could. By the time I got to it, I knew there was NO hope. The last time this happened it took three days and finally a trip from Mandy to get it fixed!

If you recall, the TV is on TOP of the mantle. It sits on like an 8" wide ledge, and is almost up to my head, way too high for me to get to, not to mention the plugs on the back. I was tired from work, but Sherrill said, "All you have to do is call the TV man".  My idea was to just watch TV in my room.
I called Time Warner, and within just a couple of minutes, I had it up and going. I yelled and laughed so hard, I even had the Time Warner Rep in stitches. I'm glad I was able to make someone happy.
Now I have a remote to set up in the guest bedroom!

Just Looking Around

I am still looking around for kitchen designs. I have about given up on the turquoise. I am thinking now dark gray countertops with the white cabinets, then a mid-gray flooring. The picture above is Corian Platinum. I can't see the added expense for Quartz or granite for me and the old man.
We went to Lowes a few weeks ago, gave them our name and number, and told them what we were
looking for. They actually have a kitchen designer that comes out and helps to match things.
When I called her and told her I was on my way there, she said "Hun, I'm going to lunch.....could you make it in a couple of hours." The other girl had just told me she had no appointments for that day.  So, we will NOT be using Lowes. "Hun" can just sit there and twiddle her fingers all day!
