WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Louise “Effie” Goodwin Steen Taylor, 79, of West Columbia, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington Chapel.  Officiating will be Brother Shumaker. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Taylor passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012.  Born in Lexington County, she was the daughter of the late Castella Snell Goodwin and Naomi Pound Goodwin.  She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – Congaree Ward.  She retired after many years of loyal service from Lexington One School District where she worked as a bus driver.

Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Elaine Lyles of West Columbia; sons, Roger Paul Steen of NC, Mike Steen of Winter Haven, FL, Ronnie Steen (Becky) of Lexington, SC, Jimmy Steen (Patti) of Lexington, SC and Kevin Taylor of West Columbia, SC; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine Evans of Elizabeth, NC; brother, Harvey Goodwin of GA.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Taylor, daughter, Nancy K. Boswell and three brothers, Gilbert, Charles and Richard Goodwin.
