Remember our Veterans

Today is Veterans Day, and I hope each of you take a moment to remember those who fought and died for our country, and those who continue to fight. I'll try to get my information together and let you know who we have in our family that have fought in wars.

New Recipes

Look what Sherrill got out of his "garden" Saturday. For those of you who don't know his "garden" consist of four flower pots. He got these off two of his pepper plants. During the summer the grand kids liked to "Pick" the peppers, and throw them against the barn. So, we "Lost" quite a few of them. Since they have started school and not in the back yard as much, these eleven were able to grow. They are in the freezer, waiting to be included in some good chili.

OK, totally different subject. I am starving. I am tired of eating the same old chicken, pork chops, and hamburgers. I need some NEW recipes. Something that is simple, and good.
If you have any, please contribute them. Mandy found a new recipe for banana pudding she needs to share.

Have a good day everyone! Love you.

What's up with the Blegen's

Well what's up with us. I've been practicing for a play that I'm going to be in. The name of the play is called Horton hears a Who. This week on Friday and Saturday is when we preform it. I'm a Who and we have been practicing it for about 7 to 8 weeks now.

Nate and I got A's and B's in are report cards so we got anything we wanted for working hard on are school work. Nate wanted a football. I wanted a pair of converse high-tops but they didn't have the right size for me, so I got a Vikings sweatshirt and shirt.

Mom and Dad have been working a lot still. It also has been getting colder out so Dad, Nate, and I might go hunting soon for some deer. In December I'm going to take a baby sitting class with a friend if she can. Well that's all that's up for now so when I'm done with my play I'll tell you guys how we did. Bye for now.

Time to Rest!

Well, we got an extra hour to sleep last night, but did we? I was awake at 6:00, turned the TV on and watched a movie. Seth and Meghan were kind enough to play in the garage (Mandy's room) until they heard "Gwama" moving around. I met them at the back door with Fruity Pebbles. At 8:00, they were ready for breakfast.

Now that we are all up and rested, it's time to see what the day has in store. Hope everyone has a very special day.

Oh, what are my third graders doing out there? Have you started cursive writing yet? Are you working on those multiplication tables? And, what about all the other little peeps. I know you have just gotten a report card. What's up?

Hope to hear from you soon........or I just might have to change the name of the blog to "Rants and Ravings of an Old Woman".

Love you all!

Isaac and School

Kat didn't post last night telling about Isaac's school day, so here's what I remember. She carried him to school at lunch time, the teacher was able to take him from her arms without crying. Then the teacher started feeding him mashed potatoes and gravy. They were a little thick, so she knew to alternate them with baby food. After lunch he had a quick nap, while he was being rocked in the teacher assistant's arms. They went to the gym to ride tricycles, and of course Isaac can't do that, so he rode around on a rickshaw tricycle by another student. I tried to find something similar and came up with this picture. Can't you just see Isaac being chauffeured around the gym! To round out the day they went outside to swing and play. Oh, they did have work time, but Isaac doesn't like that too much.
Yeaahhh for Isaac
Yeaahhh for Isaac
Yeaaahh for Isaac
YEAH! (in case you don't know, that's the Isaac cheer)

Now, if we can only get Eli back in school. His asthma is really causing problems.

SUPER CUTE!!!

I found the perfect thing for Isaac's class! If his school is like all the others, then your not going to be able to send opened candy, or homemade goodies ;( But you also don't know what the kids are allergic too, or might choke on ;( So after looking, I found these finger puppets!!! Super cute! Just an idea, the cutest I've found yet ;) Happy looking!

Turkey bags ?

Today Kat left Isaac at school by himself. First time she has ever left him with anyone except family members. I was so proud of him, and her. She left him at school because she had to take Eli to the doctor. Oh well, enough about that.

Kat asked me to make Isaac some turkeys for the kids for Thanksgiving. There's only 7 in his class. Mandy has been busy making the Christmas stockings, so I'm trying to come up with something for Thanksgiving. Here's what I've found so far.

I wanted something with felt, but I really like the orange bag, and the card below the orange bag. The last picture is a moon pie with a nutter butter cookie, and candy corn.

Come on kids. I need some suggestions. Please help..........anything for Isaac!

How far from Here to There?

I was just sitting here, thinking about upcoming holidays, and was wondering which way I could go. I was quite surprised with the answer. Would you believe this...........
My house to :
Aberdeen, WA 3068 miles
Cedar City, UT 2314 miles
Tea, SD 1488 miles
Fuquay-Varina 63 miles
302 Crestwood .02 mile

When you kids leave home, you REALLY LEAVE HOME! You could have just moved down the road a hundred miles, and I wouldn't have bothered you. James is just next door, and I don't go in his house no more than 5 times a year. Come on now, when do you all head back east.......after we are dead? Guess we should have bought that beach house. That would have been a sure way to get you home!

Meghan and her boys

Tonight at practice the three are having a date.  Toy Story 3, popcorn and Caprice Suns.  :)

Did you Vote?

Hurry, Hurry, Polls close soon!

Last of the trick or treaters?

Look what I stole off facebook............my little great-nieces Brooke and Sydney. Aren't they just darling? I don't get to see them very much, but I love and miss them. Wonder where Travis Jr was during all of this.

Facebook is GREAT! I get to see pictures I would otherwise miss out out on, and I'm NOT afraid to steal them.

Still haven't seen pictures of the Blegens, Murray's or Rollers. Come on kids, show your stuff!
