Softball

Well everyone this weekend is state for softball. Today we had two games and it was so hot i think it was about 80 but im not sure all i know is that i was hot. We won both. We played two really good teams. I got a dead ball and for anyone who doesnt know that that means its were you get hit by the ball and get walked to first base. I got hit right in the hand. Well thats about it wish us luck for tomorrow maybe we can get first then I think we would got to nationals in Illinois. Well Ill post to tell you what we get. -Tristen

Hot as ...........

the DEVIL

One hundred and one degrees outside! Yep, it's official. It's as hot as the devil!

  Eli and Isaac are just sitting back relaxing. Too hot to go outside. It's too hot to even BREATHE outside.

  Hope everyone is staying where it is cool, splashing in the water, or eating an icee!  This HOT weather is supposed to be gone in a couple of days, so hang in there.

No news to report today. It's so hot, we just sat around "chillin".

Kelli Bug, I waited for you all afternoon and evening. Sherrill and Kat went to Food Lion and he confessed to her you called while he was on the phone and he forgot to tell me. He just now told me!

Pizza and Game night

One night was pizza and game night.
  The kids paired up, locked arms while sitting on the floor. The object of the game was to stand up, while arms were still locked. Carter and Izzy won by a landslide. The others bombed out twice.
  Then there's nothing like a game of "I see a bear". Izzy would come up with her own saying, "I see a bear, WHERE, on the couch". She never fully understood what was going on.
  After all the fun, Movie time. A futon mattress works great for jumping on, and just relaxing.
  When the noise got too much for Papa, him and Jack just slipped out the back door and went for a walk.
   Then last night was swim night. Abby and James invited the kids over for a swim. I stayed inside where it was cool.
  That's our week in review so far, except for quite a bit of drama!
  We are in ECity now. Will post later.

Kat and her Sillinest!

Kathy wakes up on Sunday morning just looking for something to get into. She decieds she is going to decorate James's house while he is at church. I went looking for balloons, but found the tissue paper first. So, she made tissue paper balls, and a banner that said "Welcome home from Church". The kids colored pictures and she taped them to the sidewalk.
  After they got home Lauren runs to the house. I asked her what her mom said about the house, and she said "Mom just laughed, but dad thought she was having a baby." James thought the house was decorated for a baby shower.
   In the pictures you can tell the house is under construction, getting a facelift with new siding.

Grandma Cat

Grandma Cat was babysitting Isaac and Eli Saturday for a couple of hours. I went home to find this.
Mom and Isaac were just sitting there watching Yo gabba gabba. Isaac would hold his hand out and make a noise to let her know he wanted another chip. She would just reach over and hand him one.
She had no idea he was just putting them on the floor playing with them.
  I sat down, looked at her at eye level, and asked "Is this the way you babysit?" She looked over and smiled. "Now just wait a minute", she said "I'll have you know I got up this morning and scrubbed that floor before they even got out of bed."
  You gotta love Grandma.

I was cleaning out the microwave this morning (hasn't been done since week trip to E-City). What a mess it was. Jack and Sherrill must have done a lot of microwaving! As I was scrubbing the top and sides I suddenly realized, my CAR is cleaner than my microwave! How disgusting!
  When I return from a trip I go ahead and clean all the trash out of the vehicle before I even go inside the house. Then after the grandkids leave, I wash down the seats. The inside of the car stays pretty neat and clean, and Sherrill keeps it washed. Now, this microwave is another story.
  Men ALWAYS cover their plates when heating up something.....IF the wife is looking. Well, let the wife go out of town, and just wait and see what they do then! Jack was probably on the counter licking the buttons.
  So next time you come to my house......BEWARE of the microwave!

Kids, Kids, Kids

Kat made it, safe and sound. She was able to sleep in this morning, until Mandy went in to check on her. I think Mandy was just excited to see her big sister. The kids were able to play together, eat together, and act like cousins. Seth and Meghan should be coming this weekend. I will be going to my mom's Friday, Sherrill will be coming on Saturday. So for the Murray kids, please pencil us in for a couple of days when you can. Any day, any time will be fine. And Kelli, you know you and Blake are always welcome.
  So folks, come on down. It's hot and humid, but we can find something to do to cool off!

Miracle Cleaner

Ingredients for Miracle Cleaner:

1 part Dawn Dishwashing Liquid (the original blue kind)
2 parts Hydrogen Peroxide
Mix together and pour directly on the stain, or you can put in a spray bottle.

With the grandkids coming, I decided I better get prepared. I'm going to give this stuff a try. 

Poor Sherrill

It was 92 degrees here today and where was the old man, out painting of course. He had finished up one job Friday and wasn't to start his next one until Wednesday, so today he was at the trailer painting the top and the trim and shutters. It was so hot out there, and nearly no oxygen in the air. I made my trips, got groceries, and stayed in where it was cool! Jack even stayed in the house all day.
  I think I've been a little lazy since my trips back and forth to ECity. I have no projects started. The dining room table is clear. I'm not even sure what I want to do next. I guess I better check and see who has birthday coming up.
  Kat comes tomorrow night. I'm excited. Lauren, Carter, and Izzy are excited. Carter said he had rather see Aunt Mandy though.
  That's about all I know.
  Kelli, we need to see some new pictures of Baby Blake.....please!

Grandma's phone call

   Grandma Cat got a phone call today. "Hey Grandma, know who this is". She immediately responds it sounds like Daniel or Brandon, so it must be Brandon. Yeah Grandma, I'm in Spain.......and so the story goes. He claims to have won a trip to Spain, picked up some hitchhikers, got pulled over by the police, drugs were found in the vehicle, got arrested and needs $1500.00 to $1800.00 to get out of trouble.
   Now, anyone that talks to Grandma knows she asks a thousand questions.......which she did. The last question she asked was "Brandon, are you pulling a trick on me, or is this a scam?" The phone immediately hung up. She had read about such a scam in the Reader's Digest. She was ready for this one.
  You do realize that most senior seniors get most of their information from the Reader's Digest, AARP,
Dr Phil, and the Doctors. Sure am glad mom was prepared, and didn't give out any information. She still thinks the Nigerians are out to get her money!
  Lesson learned: YOU DON'T MESS WITH GRANDMA CAT!

Work, and work

Saturday Christa came and we worked on the guest room. The mattresses and box springs were taken off the bed, and EVERYTHING was cleaned, dusted, vacuumed, and cleared out. The lid now fits on the toy box. The curtains were taken down, washed, but not put up. Kat wants room darkening curtains. Sheets, quilt, mattress pad were all washed.
It even SMELLS better in there now. Every time Sherrill walks by, he pauses and looks in. I think he is rather proud of our accomplishment. No one is going to walk in that room until Kat gets here. Isaac is the first little one that will get on that bed.
   I'll be off to E City Tuesday. Mom and dad both have Dr appointments on Wednesday. I'll post when I get back!
 

More of Chris.....

So, he DID graduate, Now for the rest of the story.
A week or two BEFORE the big day Chris was sent home with a letter saying
he was failing 3 subjects. That boy had to put his butt in gear, and with the help of a tutor and his parents on his back, he DID pull it off. Now, why didn't he do
it all along???? I guess he's just the average high school senior.
No matter how long it took, he did it, and I am so proud. He should have just been blessed with a brain like Kelli.
I'm expecting GREAT things from you Chris, and you better not let me down!
Kelli, time to start using that brain, and get back in school (just in case you want my opinion! :)

Another Sighting.......

There was another sighting of the Google vehicle.
   Sherrill was working in Pikeville today, and a Google Volkswagon came down the street he was working on. How cool is that?! I told him he should have taken a picture but guess what.......his phone doesn't do that. He still has one of the $25.00 a month plans! I'm still waiting to see one for myself.

Kat called last night. She finally bought her plane ticket! I'm so glad she is flying and not driving. That's a LONG cross country trip. I can't wait to see Eli and Isaac (and Kat too)! Poor Chris has to stay behind and work. Got to get her room cleaned out (sanitized, deodorized, and disinfected)!
