Meet the Family

Cute picture isn't it? The boy in the cart is my brother Joey. My sister Debbie is in the red coat, and I am standing beside the bike in the plaid coat. The goat attached to the cart was our pet goat Rusty. It seems strange when you think back to your childhood and remember pets more so than you do your family.....aunts, cousins, etc. For many years Rusty WAS a member of our family. I still want a goat for the back yard, and Sherrill still says NO. Perhaps that would make him a good Christmas present!

Be kind to your pets. One day your kids will think back and ask about them!

Weekend get-A way ?

Sherrill has offered to take me away for the weekend. Only problem, I have a class on Saturday that I've already paid for. Then, Izzy has a birthday party on Sunday afternoon. Still not sure what I'm going to do. Sherrill has even said we could stay over until Monday or Tuesday. Wow wee! Two days without Jack......priceless!

Fall Tree

Well here it is.....my fall tree. Thanks Mandy for stringing the lights, and thanks Abby, Lauren, Meghan, and Izzy for putting it all together. Mandy helped clean up all the mess this morning, and boy was it alot of mess! NOw....on to next project!

Getting ready!

Last night Sherrill, James and Carter pulled all the fall decorations from the attic.
Today Mandy has put the tree together, and strung about 6 strings of candy corn and orange lights on the tree. Tonight Seth has Scouts, and Sherrill, Carter and Mandy are going with him for a practice run for the Pinewood Derby race. Their cars aren't painted yet, due to rain. I think Abby and the girls are coming over to decorate the tree while Carter is off with the guys. I'll post a picture when we get it together.

Mandy has been talking about our neighbors from where we use to live decorating the trees in their front yard. So, I found this picture of a cute little pine tree. Maybe she will decorate all the pines in our yard!

Come on folks......let's get ready for Halloween!

Happy Birthday Kellie Stokely

Oh,
Today is my nephew Travis's wife Kellie's birthday. Happy Birthday Kellie. Hope Travis and the kids were good to you! Travis is Kathy's age, but I don't know how old Kellie is.
Happy Birthday anyway!
Thanks for all you and your family do for Grandma Cat. I know she can keep you hopping.

Good Morning World

Today's going to be a GREAT day. No plans. Get to spend the day at home in my jammies if I choose to. I'll be watching Meghan for Mandy for a little while, but other than that, it's MY day.

Yesterday I did my usual shift at church. I'm still helping people find lots of their dead relatives.

Oh, I finally got a phone call Tuesday from my long lost Kelli. It was great talking to her. I think it had been at least 4 or 5 months since I last talked to her.

We have all gotten over the birthday partying......and there's still cake, cupcakes, and ice cream.

Have a good day everyone, and make it YOUR DAY!

Meghan and Miley

So we invited one of the little girls from church over to play with Meghan.  There's only so much to do in the garage so they decided to watch the new tinkerbell movie and paint.  And look mom, we put the rug on the carpet so we wouldn't get it dirty.  :)

Kelli Update (attempt #2)

ok so i was trying to update from my phone yesterday and it was being retarded! so today i try it again and so far it is a success! well not much is going on with me i guess. i have been sick with mild strep and double ear infection. so my doctor put me on amoxicillian which gave me a yeast infection. yay me! so i have been dealing with that on top of not being able to breathe, having a sore throat, having major calf cramps, and just being tired! however i have not let it get in the way of work! i am still working my little butt away.! the ear infection has finally gone away and i just wake up with a sore throat now and then once i drink and eat something then it goes away shortly after that. so other then that, everything has been going great. derrick came home this past weekend and i was able to spend a little time with him which was nice. hope all is well everywhere else!

Happy Halloween Grandma Jeanne

We stopped by today to see Grandma Jeanne on our way back from Smithfield. I had just bought this little flag from Carolina Pottery. $8.99 That's about my spending limit.

Capri Sun party... :)

So I was sent a bunch of Capri Sun stuff to have a party with.  I didn't really have a party but two of my SWEET sisters and the SWEETEST  sister in law are going to say how much fun they had when they get their surveys!!  :)  I had to take pics of "my party" so heres what I've got:
Carter, Meghan and Lauren playing in the bounce house at Jamie and Abbys.  :)  thx!

Izzy and Lauren drinking their Capri Suns.  (I forgot to get them to turn the package around!)

And Carter playing with the pencil pouches and magnets that they got.

Next is a hamburger helper party.  I've got 5 boxes of Cheeseburger Mac to make for someone.  Any takers???  Really, I have 5 boxes!!  But hey, they keep sending me free stuff so why not share with the rest of the family!  :)

Lauren's first day of school

Here are pictures of Lauren's first day of school I stole from her teacher's website.
Abby, I included your picture so the sisters could see what you look like with short hair.

Hope all the grandkids are loving school.

my kidos

hello family.  all is well with us for the most part.

Meghan and dad keep fighting.  I don't think she's his little buddy anymore.  :)  She keeps wanting to tell him no and give reasons why she doesn't want to do just about anything.  Oh, and for those of you that don't know, since coming to NC in May, Meghan has started stuttering.  She doesn't do it all the time.  Sometimes its little but other times, it may take her a while to finally say what she's trying to say.  We just have to wait for her and work with her on it.  The doctors said it was just from the move and hopefully it will be gone by the end of the year or else we will have to take her to see other doctors.  So if you see her or talk to her and she's having problems talking, she's trying the best she can.  She loves playing soccer at times.  It just depends on if she has had a nap or what mood she is in for that day.  :)

As for Seth, he's still my little trouble maker.  He got in trouble with dad today at church so now he's not allowed to go to football practice Monday night.  That boy is gonna learn one way or the other.  He did get his pinewood derby car today for scouts.  Dad is gonna help him make it so this should be fun.  They have until 10/1 to make it so they better hurry up.  I talked to his teacher at school Saturday and she said he's not close to changing colors for talking but she would let me know when he starts getting close.  The teachers LOVES talking so I think she lets the kids get away with alot.  But she's really nice and Seth loves going to school.

I think that's about all for now.  I'll find some pics to post so mom will be happy this week.

OOOHHH, Don't forget everyone, WEDNESDAY is dad's birthday!!  I keep making him think that I'm planning a party and he's stressing.  :)  He's working this week so I can't and we are so busy with all the games that we wouldn't have time but please make sure everyone calls him Wednesday!

Cute little Girl

Isn't she the cutest little thing? Her name is Carolina, and she is the daughter of my cousin LeeAnn. She just posted these on Facebook, and you all know how I LOVE to steal a good picture! I'll have to keep on looking to find one of her little sister Aurora.

The house is quiet. Sherrill, Mandy and the kids are at church. All is well.

Have a good day everyone.

The Murray's

Hi,

Just a quick note for everyone. Cameron is busy with his 2nd track of 1st grade. He really enjoys school until they tell him he has to read a book for homework. If it is math he is done in a snap but reading..oh my. He is busy with soccer and loves playing but we have to remind him not to kick it so hard. I missed practice last nite and dad said he still needs to learn to keep it to himself, and I said "is he having fun?" that is what matters. Olivia is dancing ballet and tap on the same nite from 630-730 so it makes for a long nite. She loves dancing with the big girls and is doing very well. She had a nice birthday and loved spending the money to buy zzu zzu pets and shoes. She does great at school but being a year older than most everyone she gets really bored and starts playing teacher herself. Today she came home sick and dad took care of her while i worked. He was not happy he had to leave work early after finally getting to work. I am working hard but really dont like workin with people that dont actually work and disappear frequently, but since i am the newby i can say anything YET! So there is our update enjoy our chaos.

BTW - Kelli is doing fine except right now she has ear infections and strep throat, but i told her to rest and eat lots of food and take her medication.

bye for now....
Wendy

Robert died

My Uncle died last night. His name was Robert, and that's what we called him, "Robert". Not "Uncle Robert". Aunt Louise was always "Aunt Louise", but Robert was always Robert. They told him 2 1/2 years ago that he would be dead in 3 months. That's when I went to Florida 2 years ago February to go see him. Then they told him 2 weeks ago that he had 3 days to live.......He lived almost 2 weeks. So, don't listen to the medical profession when they tell you that you are dying. Die on your own terms. You will know when it is your time to go. Don't let them stress you out.
Continue to live each day as if it were your last. Tell the ones you love that you love them, and tell the rest to just "piss off".

Have a good day everyone. And, I love you ......you too Kelli Bug!

Do you know where your mother is!

It's 4:30 AM......do you know where your mother is? Not sleeping, that's for sure! I don't know when I will get back on schedule. No one should have to get up before 8:00 AM.

I went to sewing class yesterday, but refused to carry my machine. I am still working on my "circle in a square". Now please tell me, how do you put a square peg in a circle? Well, I'm working on it. I didn't feel like stressing out with it yesterday, so I went to class just to talk. The other 2 people didn't show up either. I guess they just quit. I'll have to take pictures to post later.

Seth went to scouts last night, and learned his address. I guess we forgot to teach him that since he moved here. He missed football practice. decisions, decisions.

I have absolutely NO plans for today. I can sit back and goof off all day. Yeaaaahhhh. Well, I guess I actually do that alot of days.
I'm getting in the mood again to go cemetery hunting. My friend David that builds Nascar engines (for Carl Edwards) contacted me yesterday looking for some graves. I love going to find some Old Old graves. I wonder if I can get Mandy to go with me.

Sherrill is working in Kenly this week, so he is close to home. It seems a little strange when he comes walking in before 5:30 or 6:00. He still leaves home before the sun comes up though. Oh yeah Wendy, Mandy said you called yesterday morning. You can call here anytime day or night. It doesn't bother me. If I want to get some sleep, or don't want to be disturbed, I just turn off the ringer. I'm use to this phone ringing anytime day or night. I fall right back to sleep.

I'm anxious today to talk to Kat to see what Joe has decided on a house in Washington. And, I'm anxious to talk to James about his trip to Alabama. Oh, and I can't leave out talking to Daniel about the "clunker" he just bought. I can't wait to tease him. Why do men insist on buying vehicles off ebay. Women know better!

Time to rise up little ones, and get ready for work and school. Hope you didn't stay up 'til midnight watching "Gone with the WInd" like I did.

Hope everyone has an exciting day. So......what did YOUR child do at school this week?

Opps, here it is.

Taking orders now

Hello family.  I am making Christmas stockings.  If you'd like some for your kids classes, let me know how many you need.

Look at me!

Yep, this is what I look like. I just finished painting and rolling my hair. I have to get ready for sewing class tomorrow morning. Why do women fix up when they are just going to see other women? It sure beats the heck out of me. I think we should be able to go out in our jammies with no bra. No drawers either if that suits you.

I've got 4 quilts out that I'm working on. When one stresses me out, I just pick up another one. Mandy has been in the floor laying out about a hundred blocks for me.
She's a good iron-er too! (spell check didn't know what to do with that word)

Joe made it to Washington, James to Alabama, and Daniel is back in Wisconsin. James should be back tomorrow evening, and I think Joe will be back by the weekend. That's about all I know.

A lady I know is coming over tomorrow night to talk to me and Sherrill. She's selling grave plots. I hated to tell her over the phone that I want to be an "eternal reef". I'll have to show her the video tomorrow. The cemetery is having a "two for one" special. I guess they are having slow times too. Maybe Mandy or Christy have a coupon for that too!

Sherrill's birthday is next week. I told him Mandy wanted to have a party for him, but he said if she did, he just wouldn't come home. I think he hates the realization that he is getting old. I'm just waiting for the little Boy Scouts to help me across the street! Better than that, they will have to help me find my car!

That's all for now. Be good everyone, and be sure to be NICE when you are helping with homework.

Good Morning World

Yesterday I woke up at 2:30 AM, and now today it's 4:30. My internal clock must be resetting.

Sherrill, Mandy, and 4 of the kids went to Lowes yesterday to build a dog leash holder. They are the cutest little things! Every time he gets the kids together, they can come up with the strangest things to do. As you saw from Mandy's video, yesterday it was barking like a dog! I don't know how he comes up with these things, and the louder the better. When Lauren and Carter walk over to visit, when they leave to go home, he has them run all the way home, and scream at the top of their lungs. Strange old man!
Oh well, what ever floats his boat.

I think Joe made it as as far as Idaho yesterday, James as far as Alabama, and Daniel to Texas. You will have to ask their spouses for more info. As for me, I just stayed home. Sherrill worked in the yard, Mandy cut coupons, and we taught Seth how to dust furniture. All in all, it was a good day. I finished the "circle" part of my quilt, only to discover it's a little "wavy" instead of lying flat. Oh well, I'll work on it Monday.

What were all these phone calls about last night? Daddy "accidently " called Christy around 10 last night. Then Christy called Mandy to see what He wanted, and to see if it was OK to call him that late. Then Christy called Grandaddy. Then Christopher called me at 10:30 pm looking for Mandy. Mandy was in her room talking to Christy. Then I called Christy to see what was going on with Dad. Then Chris calls Mandy. Then Mandy calls Christy. I just sat back in my room watcing TV. I guess all of us are turning into "little Catherines". I sure am glad we all like each other, and no one was sleeping.

No other news for now. Have a great day everyone, and get out and enjoy!

GrandMa Kitty Kat

I talked to Grandma tonight and she wanted everyone to guess what is the one word that she HATE's. I mean Hate Hate Hate. Start to guess what it is? See who can get it right.

Dad and his dogs

Turn ur volume up!!

Lowes for today

Busy Busy week

I haven't been blogging as I should. I never even took the time to post pictures of my two birthday babies Chris and Olivia. I had a quilting class on Tuesday, and we have to have the main part of our quilt finished by next week's class. I start with 4 1/4 in squares that I have to cut in half diagonally, then I have to cut again. I take these 4 pieces, and cut them in half. Then I have to sew, press, cut, sew. press, and match up all along. I have to match up a 4 1/4, 3 1/4, 3, and 2 1/2 squares, and sew them into a tower, then cut them into a wedge, then sew 35X4 of them into a circle. Now, I can't even see to measure some of these 1/4 inches.
Anyway, it has been real stressful, so Mandy has helped me with the pressing and matching........that was until she decided to create her OWN design. The last 3 hours today I spent taking out what was done wrong. She really has been a great help though.

Lauren had a grandparent's day at school today. I drag out early so I can be at school a little past 8. Who knew there would be hundreds of cars there? I had to park down the street across the road and walked what seemed to be a mile. Abby's mom came later than me, so she had even further. The little kids were just adorable. It's been awhile since I've hung out at a school.

I don't know if Kat has posted it yet or not, but she will be moving to Washing state the first of next month. There goes our Las Vegas Vacations!

Still no more news on Kelli. Girl, where are you? Go to the public library for internet service!

I haven't heard about Chris birthday. I'm sure he had an exciting time!

Mandy, Seth, and Meghan have gotten into their routine.....well, kinda sorta. Meghan still refuses to take an afternoon nap. She will sit on the bed and cry, or repeat to herself over and over, "I'm NOT taking a nap, I'm NOT taking a nap". She is quite head strong! Don't know where she might have gotten that from :)

Seth really seems to enjoy his school. He sees his teacher drive by every morning when she leaves for school. She's just around the corner on the next block! Football and soccer games start next week. This should be exciting!

That's about it. Oh yeah, it really is 3:00 AM. I couldn't sleep......worry about those little 1/4 inch squares waiting for me!
Oh well, tomorrow IS another day. Hope ALL of you make it a good one.

Prayers out to Joe and James who will be on the road traveling today. (not together) Stay safe guys.

Love you all.

Kids and Jelly fish didn't play nice!!

Hello family.  We are still in Biloxi.  Today we went to the ocean, that would be the Gulf of Mexico, and TRIED to play in the water.  Seth said that something bit him but I couldn't figure out what it was.  He did have red spots on his leg but I had no clue what it was from.  So while he was on  the beach crying and acting like he was dying (don't worry mom, Don was with us so he was listening to Seth) Meghan and I were in the water and she said she stepped on something and it hurt.  So we go back to shore and she has red dots.  I still couldn't figure out what they were from.  Finally, a few minutes later, Meghan said she wanted to get back in the water and go out.  So we did.  Now Seth is still on the sand throwing a fit the entire time.  So while Meghan and I walk out, I see JELLY FISHES!!  Not just  one or two but TONS!!!  So we get out of the water.  Then we start looking all in the water and they were everywhere!!

So we have had pizza all weekend.  I'm so tired of pizza.  But it was all free so I guess its okay.  :)  Tonight, Aunt Cathy came and visited us.  It was great talking with her.  I haven't seen her in about 5 years.  She still looks the same.  We talked about everyone and we had a great time.  I wish I was staying longer so I could see more of her but I'll just start visiting more often.

Okay, its late and we need to sleep.  We are getting up early and heading home.  Seth is suppose to have football practice but I'm pretty sure we aren't going to make it.  We are stopping in Montgomery to see some friends on the way home and then stopping by ATL to drop Dan off at the airport.

Hope everyone has a good night!  :)

It's all in a day!

Sherrill and I took off for a little road trip today. We went to Cary, walked around a few shops, out to eat, then stopped by Wendy's to drop off Olivia's birthday present. We never stay gone from too long, because Jack and Girl dog are depending on us. We get back just in time. Jack is lying on the patio step having a seizure. Sherrill picks him up, gets him in the house, while I am looking for something with sugar in it.

Mandy had just baked a cake and made two batches of cookies in preparation for the hurricane, but they ALL had chocolate in them. So, I take apart a golden oreo and have Sherrill scrape out the white center and put it in Jack's mouth. After a few minutes, he was fine. He has these seizures about every 3 months or so. Weird!

Mandy and the kids are in Mississippi with Dan and his dad. Mandy picked up Dan at the airport in Atlanta this morning at 9:30, and he rode with her there. She left home at 2:30 AM. I slept through it all. Jack didn't even bark! She's meeting up with Cathy Evans tomorrow night. I told her to tell Cathy that she was still responsible for the sweet potato casserole at Thanksgiving! I hope she gets some pictures.

That's about all I know. The house is quiet, Sherrill has already gone to bed, and I have 3 or 4 quilts over there I should be working on. I have a new quilt class this Tuesday, and will finish up next Tuesday. That will be another one started, and hopefully completed during class time.

We were planning to take a road trip tomorrow, but both of us were so tired when we got home, we might rethink our plans! It's a "witch" being old. Just wait, you will be there soon.

Sherrill talked to Cindy tonight and got reports on the Blegen family. We still haven't heard from Kelli.

I'm still fuming over the thought of Chris and a tattoo. I think I'll offer to pay for a body piercing to go along with it. I need to talk to that boy. Everytime he calls though it is 10:30 or 11:00, and my brain has slowed down for the night.
Chris, call me!

Again, this is all I know. Oh, Isaac weighs 27 pounds now, and the doctor told Kat she could start feeding him just 3 meals a day, and snacks. She no longer has to get up early and stay up late for his 11:00 PM feed. That way maybe she will get some sleep.

Goodnight Kids. Love all of you.

This is for you James

Just for you babe!

Kidos and Soccer

Sorry the pics are everywhere.  I'm downloading them from my phone.  James is in the pics because for those of you that didn't know is the coach.  The other guy in the pic is Brian.  He's the other little girls dad.  James just had him out to help him.   For those of you that remember Mr Cox that coached tball with dad, his son Michael has a son on the team.  Christy, you should remember him.  Kat, you won't.
Okay, I don't have much more to say.  Have a gerat weekend.  :)
