Blake Scott

Blake starts a new school tomorrow! He seemed to really like it when we went and visited last week! He threw a fit as we were leaving because he wanted to stay and play! He is working on potty training now and absolutely loves it! Wants to sit on the potty and hold his "pee pee down from shooting everywhere" all the time! He is too smart for his age! His new phrases to say are "Im the man" and "iicccee coooold!!" Everytime we are in a store he says hey to everyone and now he says "hey babe" to all females. When we check out at the registers he always yells "have a good daaayyy". such as cutie! He definetly loves outside and always want to go and do! I think he gets that from his dad! Cant sit still! He loves basketball and tells me all the time he is riding the bus to school and he grabs his jackets and diapers bag which is in the shape of a small backpack. Cindy he tried calling you yesterday to tell you he went to the potty but we figured you may have been busy or in church. He went to moms Saturday night to play where he got his shoes all full of sand! So yes, my mother sent ME home to clean them! what happened to grandmothers these days :).

Exciting three days.......

We went to Grandma's. Mandy arrived a day early and cooked lunch for us before we arrived.

A trip to the DC temple

Sunday afternoon with the grandkids, and Mandy.

Blake getting "up close" to Jack.

I have hundreds of pictures the boys took on their DC trip, and trip to Grandma's. I'll put them together in a video. Ohhhh we are tired. We are sleeping in late tomorrow, except of course for Sherrill.
Someone has to work!

Today's activities........

Today has already been busy. We made a quick trip to Durham to the US Citizenship and Immigration Service. Next we went to the temple in Apex. We knew it was going to be closed, but it was just down the road about 15 miles. Then we met Kelli and Blake for lunch.
(I know Wendy, the Murray family were next in line. I figure you would be working, and Sherrill was too. Tell Randy and the kids I haven't forgotten about them!)

Can you tell where we went?
Tomorrow........... Washington, DC. (and Heavenly Father, please bless Grandma and all that traffic.)

We are back home from Elizabeth City. whew!
The guys went swimming in the ocean at Virginia Beach....... In February. How crazy is that?
Kelli, we will be in Durham tomorrow around 12:00. Where will you be after that? We could meet you somewhere for a late lunch.

Happy Birthday Lauren.....

This is just a few of activities at the pre-birthday party. I was able to get in some pictures as the guests were arriving thanks to Jamieson. Sorry that I didn't get a picture of the cake. It was really cute though.
Happy 8th Birthday Lauren.

So, what do the guys do when the sun goes down?
Play in the fire of course. Looks eerie doesn't it? Chris definitely has something behind him.

Looks like Brothers

Look at my two guys. Handsome aren't they?

And here's my other two. They are both behaving nicely. I can't wait to take them to see Grandma Cat.

Sunday Scripture

Lauren's birthday party is today. I can't believe that girl will turn 8 nest week.
By the way, I washed Chris's comforter yesterday, and the lining fell all to pieces. It's his favorite one (about 30 years old), but he hugged it, and was glad to have it anyway. Kids are easy to please!

Eli and mom

Look how cute. I love Kat's hair. Eli..... well, he might need a little work!
OK, I just talked to Kat. I got the run down about the hair. Eli is an extra in a music video (thus the picture on Facebook). He had to wear his hair crazy to fit the environment. He got out of school with one of his buddies to go be "star". Look out Hollywood........ here comes Eli!

Remember this?

Do you remember when Isaac looked like this?

Look at that head of hair, and the curls on top.
I came across this picture today, and it just tugged at my heartstrings. I wish Chris could bring him along on the trip. Wonder if Kat would even consider it?
Kat is making Chris clean out his room before he leaves Saturday morning. Once he gets back, he will only have a couple of days before he leaves for Utah. She has him sorting mission clothes, Grandma's house clothes, give away stuff, and storage stuff. She was complaining last night that he wants to keep EVERYTHING. I can't blame him. He has hauled most of that stuff all over the United States. He has a collection of snow globes, every video and gaming system possible, and enough clothes for a football team. The house won't even be the same without the stench of Chris' room. Let's see how to describe it..... a combination of smelly sneakers and sweaty t-shirts. No, not really. That's about what Kat would say. I can't wait to see what the end results looks like.
She better not move everything out. Her and Katie (the yorkie) both will miss the "fragrance of Chris". I need to tell her to leave a dirty pillow for Katie. She loves her Chris!

I AM part Neanderthal

MODERN HUMANS
  • Higher brow
  • Narrower shoulders
  • Slightly taller
NEANDERTHALS
  • Heavy eyebrow ridge
  • Long, low, bigger skull
  • Prominent nose with developed nasal chambers for cold-air protection
Neanderthals were a group of humans who lived in Europe and Western Asia. They are the closest evolutionary relatives of modern humans, but they went extinct about 30,000 years ago. The first Neanderthals arrived in Europe as early as 600,000 to 350,000 years ago. Neanderthals — Homo neanderthalensis — and modern humans — Homo sapiens — lived along side each other for thousands of years. Genetic evidence suggest that they interbred and although Neanderthals disappeared about 30,000 years ago, traces of their DNA — between 1 percent and 4 percent — are found in all modern humans outside of Africa. Apart from the curiosity of finding what percentage of a modern human's genome is Neanderthal, the information has great value for science. By comparing our DNA with Neanderthal DNA, scientists can detect the most recent evolutionary changes as we developed into fully modern humans.

An estimated 2.8% of your DNA is from Neanderthals.

83rd percentile (Now this fits me.) Look at the shape of that egg head!

Happy 63rd Birthday

who can name this good looking birthday boy? ♥

My new Modem

Isn't she just a jewel?
No, I am NOT bragging. If you have been to my house to watch me sitting in front of the computer trying to watch a youtube video when every 15 seconds the thing starts "buffering", you would agree something was totally wrong. First I thought it was the internet carrier. who would have thought it was the modem.  Did you know different modems can handle different speeds. My old modem was good for download speeds of 3 mbps. Well, this baby can do a whopping 188 mbps. Too bad my carrier only gives me 15-24 mbps. I am flying now! When you rent a modem from the carrier, it gives them even MORE control of your max speed.
You can also hook up 5 or more networks. That means when the grandkids want to play online games, they can have their own network and password. Pages that use to take a couple of minutes to load, now are there in just one click.
Life is AMAZING. I'm glad I am finally keeping up with modern times. Online classes will be a breeze now! I had to cut one short last week just because of the slow downs. GoodBye AT&T.
Let's roll Road Runner!
PS  In a few weeks when I start complaining, please remind me about this post!

Oops!

I made a post earlier saying Sherrill's birthday was in 4 days. Oops, big mistake. I just told him I almost forgot about his birthday in 4 days. He looked at me crazy and reminded me it isn't his birthday, it's our anniversary. See, I keep telling you my brain isn't working.
But hey, I got the wireless hooked up on the laptop. The Mac isn't cooperating however. I might have to save it for Chris to set up for me, or I'll try again tomorrow. This modem lets me have 4 or more networks!

Hey Look......I still have snow

I still have a little bit of snow lingering. I wish I had taken the time to take pictures yesterday.
Sherrill is out working in this cold weather, and of all places he is working outside. Now, this man isn't on a schedule, and he can wait for warmer weather. But no, he starts to see dollar signs, and there he goes.
Kids, do you remember when you would take pennies and put on the floor, just to watch him walk inside, see a penny and stop to pick it up....and keep on walking and picking up more? He still does that stuff. He can see a penny stuck in tar on an asphalt road, and he will stand there and try to dig it out. And ask about the number of times he has dug through the trash to look for money I had misplaced.
So, he's out in the cold and I am guarding Jack. Just doesn't seem right.

In a large bowl, combine cake mix and pudding mix. Add soda, oil and eggs. Beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth.
