Thank You LOWES!

This morning we went to the Build and Grow at Lowes. This weeks activity were Bug Boxes! So guess what we have been doing all day? Collecting CATERPILLARS!

Meghan is STILL sick

Meghan is still sick.  Yesterday she was still running her fever of over 102.  As long as we kept Motrin in her she seemed to be fine.  She woke up this morning and the vomiting was BACK!! Thank goodness Dan flys in tonight so he can help take care of her.

I gotta go cut coupons now.  bye bye

Happy 13th

Have you had a good day so far today? Anything bad happen? Been a little on edge just waiting for something to happen? All went well here, even though we did ring in the morning at the hospital. Meghan still has her fever, and still taking Motrin. I have her hooked on crushed ice. She just hates hearing it grind up!

Mandy is getting her things organized. Just ask her about the 83 school shirts Seth has. I will NEVER let her forget this one!

Hope ALL of you have had a GREAT day!

Poor little Moo Moo

Meg had to go to the hospital tonight.  Thanks mom for taking us.

Fire pictures

Here are a couple of fire pictures. According to the fireman, the fire burned through that little hole, not burning the fence there, then burned about 1/2 acre back. then came back up to the fence where it burned in a different location and did the damage behind the barn.

Next picture is Mandy and Sherrill putting back all the junk in the barn while Abby fights the "Hot spots".

Last picture is the area behind the barn. Oh well, we will get that barn cleaned out now!

Judy McKeel.....fireman extraordinaire.........

To put it short.....
There was a fire that burned about 1/2 acre behind us, and burned the back of the barn....
Judy ran to the rescue....(not a pretty sight!)
I ran water on the back of the barn, under the barn, and the fence to keep the fire from spreading UNTIL the real firemen came.....about 8 or 9 of them! There were 5 fire trucks, a utility truck, and all kinds of flashing lights.
All of this happened during nap time, so the kids missed it.
The firemen were nice enough to pull over half of the stuff out of the barn, so they could spray down the the back wall.
Thanks Abby for letting us know about the fire, and for calling 911. Thanks also to the unknown neighbor that called 911 even before Abby did! And thanks Mandy for keeping us calm through all the excitement.

Well, I've had my exercise for this month! Time to take a break!

So, how was YOUR day?

Fire, fire, fire

And these aren't even all of the trucks.

Jack vs Mom

This is what Jack does when mom walks by dads room at night.

And they are off.......

They are starting a new day with the construction. The outside is complete, except for the painting. Today they are inside putting up the paneling. Now, the paneling that is in there is from the 70's. So, everything has to be painted. It's not damaged or anything, just butt ugly brown.

OK, I started this post this morning, and got side tracked. They put in the insulation, put up the paneling around the window, framed out the window, and primed the walls and trim. They really worked hard all day! Monday they will paint the walls. Yeaahhhhh.

I'm not sure what day Mandy will be able to go to her POD. I guess that depends on Sherrill's work schedule. She needs the van and trailer to bring her bed here. Daniel will be arriving next Sunday, so we have to get their "Love nest" ready!

That's all for now. Time to go looking for some food.

Adios Amigos!

McKeels at work

Seth at football practice

Seth is the kid in all black.

Kurt's work!

I got this picture a little while ago from Christy. As you can see, Christy has had Kurt working hard. ALL of you know how aggravating it can be to put one of these swing sets together! Well, most of you at least.

Don't you wish you could look out and see the mountains?

Jimmy Gone WIld

Hey kids, do you remember this guy. He was the DJ at Mandy's birthday party she had at the park. He's on his way to becoming famous. I apologize in advance for the use of profanity.

I kind of like the coon dog song, just a little something different!

New Construction Day 2

They have already started.....Bam, Bam, Bam......"Mandy, bring me...."
What a lovely way to start a morning. Sherrill has Mandy outside as his "Gopher". He's up on his ladder tearing out. His plans are to work until noon, then wait for James.
Between the three of them, they know just enough to be dangerous! Without Kat here as their supervisor there's no telling how things will turn out. Can they actually do this without her? I'm quite sure they are confident that they can.

Jack is still in his room snoozing away. He wakes up every now and to bark as I walk down the hallway. He will have to keep it cool today.

That's all I know for now. I have to go get Uncle Rudy and start our day.

Hope all of you have a fun filled day planned.

HI HO, HI HO, It's off to work we go....

We started with the actual reconstruction of the garage. Sherrill took the trim from around the door today, and an 80 something year old man came to lay the brick. He got here around 1:30 PM......and worked during the hottest part of the day. He had me and Uncle Rudy there to supervise.

Tomorrow Sherrill will take down the siding, and start framing in the garage door opening. I hope they at least get the window in by Wednesday. Sherrill has a funeral to go to tomorrow, and I have to take Uncle Rudy to Greenville to the doctor. James has agreed to help tomorrow after work, and funeral. We might have to park the cars all around and turn the headlights on when it starts to get dark. I think we are way beyond the "redneck" stage! I don't know what we are turning into! We still have the sprinkler in the front yard to occupy the kids. Today they chose to chase each other with the water hose. You would have to see it all to believe it. All wee need now is a blue port-a-john parked in the front yard!

If you are sitting home, bored, with nothing to do, just come on for a visit. We will put you to work! Life goes on at the McKeel house.

Oh, Jack is still scratching. We cut his hair off real short, and have put Sea Breeze on him, peroxide, and all kinds of stuff. He goes to the Vet Thursday if he lasts that long. Mandy looked up dog dermatitis, and it said he may need an antibiotic. I hope we figure out something. We have been giving him 1/2 of a childs benadryl meltaway. He hates them. Any suggestions anyone?

Jack dog

Jack has been getting on my last nerve. He barks, growls, foams at the mouth (well almost)every night when I am walking down the hall. The other night I had enough of it, and I said in my most Satanic voice....Die, Die, Die. As I whispered these words, he just looked at me,as if it scared him, and he got quiet. When Sherrill heard what I was saying, he got really angry with me. I went on to my room, with a smile on my face.

Well, today Sherrill washed Jack, and put him in his room when he went to church. Jack knew it was time for Sherrill to be coming home, so about 4:00 I put Jack outside to wait for Sherrill. I didn't know it, but Jack had walked back and forth under the wooden steps in the patio, rubbing the hair off his back, and causing his back to bleed. He has done this before, but this time Sherrill was really worried. We had to take Jack, clean him up, and bandage him up. This is a picture of the results. Jack is still mad, sitting under the table, and growling everytime I walk in the kitchen.

More drama at the McKeel house!
